Barclaycard

Hello.
These forums have been really helpful. Im awaiting a response from HSBC for £800 worth of charges and that was pretty straight forward.
However i am about to send the template letter (SAR) to Barclaycard for a list of all charges. I am concerned by the problems i have read relating to microfilm and charging £3 per statement instead of a list of charges (no such problems with HSBC as they were all on the internet).
What does any recommend? should i send the standard letter and £10 cheque and wait for the next response? or amend this template letter to argue the above points?
Thank you0 -
Like most people I have had the standard Barclaycard letter saying it will take an extra 6-8 weeks to get the older statements of the microfiche and what I would like to track down is a letter I can send to basically get them do the process a bit quicker. I'm not sure if it has already been listed somewhere & searching all threads within all the posts will probably take 6-8 weeks !! So if anyone can remember seeing such a sample letter it would be appreciated.
Cheers, Skippy.0 -
Has anybody experienced barclaycard demanding the remained of the balance back?
I only have 420 balance but it's money I haven't got at the moment.
I estimate I've had 150pounds of charges this would go towards paying the card off.0 -
Hi guys, Barclays and Barclaycard have filed a defence and i have received the paperwork from the courts today. Has anyone been this far with them before and if so what happened? Should i be preparing to go to court with them??
Help please

Hi Claire,
I'm also on Barclays' case for my Dad, but we're way behind you at the moment. However, I've been reading all possible threads to make sure I'm prepared and I've just found this posting that tells you what Barclays solicitor said
Hi guys,
I have issued a MCOL with Barclays and I thought I would email the litigation dept to see if they wanted to settle out of court (could really do with the money right now!) and I got this reply from them. Just thought I'd post it on the board so people can see what Barclays stance is on settling cases and the timescales involved...
Thank you for your email and your offer to settle early. I fully intend to settle your claim before it gets to court but the only problem is the sheer amount of people I am dealing with at the moment. I am still dealing with people who are in court next week, and unfortunately the first possible time I am able to look at settlement is once they have a court date set. I know this is not an ideal solution but unfortunately it is the only method we have of not missing anybody. I will of course refund any new court costs incurred in the eventual settlement.
Please feel free to contact me once you have a court date and I will be able to give you a better sense of when your case will be settled.
Thanks,
Tom
So I think in answer to your question, you will need to go through the process, but you should definitely get your money before the court date itself. Good Luck and hope you don't have to wait too long:dance: Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Hi i am taking barclay card [STRIKE]the cleaner's[/STRIKE] court and they have put in a defense, the standerd one that a few people have got about me abusing the court system. i found out today they have added lees than a 3rd (£75) onto my account that i had closed down a year ago. they now seem to have reopened it and sent me the statement.
Anyone know where i stand with this? as i did close the account. If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0 -
I have made a requested my charges of £512 and interest of £150.97 on the 10 April 07 and received a letter 3 days later stating how they think the charges are fair but as a goodwill gesture they would offer me £164 which I saw on my next statement I sent them a letter on the 21st letting them know I would be taking them to court if I did not get my charges in full and I got a letter back a few day latter saying they were not going to consider my request for a further refund. I have since put a claim on MCOL. I have not seen much success in relation to Barclaycard on this notice board. Has anyone any success to report?0

I have sent of a letter to obatin a list of charges. It was sent around the 20th April. Just give them a call to see if they had recieved my letter. They said they had recieved it on the 12th May. Thay also sai that they might take more than 40 days to reply as there was a backlog of requests for this information. Are they allowed to take more than 40 days, and if they do what can I do about it?0
