hi,
i'm new to this so hope i post this properly!!
i was just wondering if someone could help me please. i have sent capital one a letter requestnig my charges and in total i am due £606 back including interest. i have sent them the next letter requesting these charges back and they have sent me a cheque for £192?? its not that i'm ungrateful i just expected more especially as the money will come in useful to pay my student debts off.
can anyone reccomend me what to do. should i accept it at the risk of getting no money back or should i ask for more? do i return the cheque to them?
has anyone asked for the full amount from capital one after being made an offer like myself and been successful?? or is this the best i will get. i am also doing this with barclaycard too so if anyone knows what they are like too it will be of help.
thanks very much

Did they send any accompanying letter with the cheque?
What most people do is continue with the process and and insert into the next letter a paragraph that states you are accepting the amount only as partial payment and until the full amount is paid, you will continue with your claim.0 -

I sent off for may statements from Barclaycard and got this response.
Further to your request for copies off your credit card statements, we are writing to let you know two things; firstly to enclose part of the information you have requested and secondly; to explain the postion with regard to the other statements you asked for.
Enclosed you will find copies of your credit card statements from June 2004 to the present time. These statements are stored on our computer. We will be sending you your statements prior to this date later. These statements are stored on microfilm (rather than computer) and, take more time to search and reproduce. We will get this information to you as soon as we can. This is likely to be within the next 6 weeks or so.
Statement requests are being processed in the order in which they have been recieved to seek to ensure fairness. The data protection regulator, the inormation commissioner, has been made aware of the postion and knows that we are writing to you in these terms. The information commissioner is also aware that whilst we are endearvouring to supply this information as quickly as we can, we do not consider that the microfilm statements fall within the scope of the Data Protection Act 1998. Nevertheless we are happy to provide you with these as a gesture of goodwill.
Is this fair?

Barclaycard have already been told, they do fall under the DPA, so this is an outright lie. If they haven't supplied the info in full within 40 days, you need to let them know they're in breach and write to the Data Commissioner.

I have just received a letter from barclaycard offering £200 of a £550 claim... I'm not happy with this and want to write back but am unsure how to word my letter... is there a template letter for declining a partial offer?? I can't seem to find one!
Thanks

Ive just filled out the court papers and will take them into court on monday and pay the fee, what will happen next, and has anyone got any experience of claiming back from barclaycard? we're claiming back £991 which doesn't seem a lot but with a baby on the way it will help us loads.0

Hi guys, just a quick question!
Ive just recieved my statements (and god what hard work that was!) and I have two 'returned payment fees' listed, which I think is basically where Ive made a monthly payment, but didnt have the money in my current account so the direct debit or cheque has bounced. Ive checked the thread regarding what you can claim back, but the only 2 specifics under credit cards are late payment fees and overlimit fees. I am inclined to include the two returned payment fees in my request, but just thought I would check to see what you thought? Ive done a quick search, but cant see if anyone else has asked the same question, so sorry if it has been repeated!
Thanks in advance!0
