    Hi

I have got a reply and offer from cap one and happy to accept as the account has been closed for some time now.
The letter does state that it will be paid into my account . I have signed it and wrote at the bottom that the account is closed and please send a cheque to me . is this fine and will they do this . what are my options .

    Thanks

    Angie

If your account is closed they can only really send you a cheque anyway. However, if your account is still opened but not used or you have another account with them, they may credit it to one of them

They will probably argue paying the full amount first anyway over the £12 threshold business...but if they pay into your card it will take you into credit of the remaining £400 odd as far as I know.

I finally got my statements though yesterday and sent letter and list of charges off by recorded:D .

But what is it with Cap 1 statements and being incredibly difficult to read? They are not the clearest of statements are they??

this is probably another stalling tactic - they make them uneasy to read so you can't actually see exactly what charges have been made! :rotfl:

Got my first off today - £524 for MCard and £344 for VCard going to decline for obvious reasons and get the mcol started asp. Its a shame they waste time sending out offers like this when they know so many people have the guidence of this great site to go on.

charges have been clearly printed on my statements. the layout of the statements have changed after 2002 but its easy to read, and the charges are clearly stated.

I only have a 200 pound limit and the charges are for over 800 pound??

How can they justify this. As I said my balance is only 400 so if I get a result from my claim they will owe me money!!

Has anyone refused Cap One offer of difference between charge and 12 pound and succeeded without going to court?

Without reading all of this thread it is difficult to tell but if you have can you tell me how you did it!
