  • No probs. IM me later and i will try and help you by comparing them to mine. Most of the charges will be round figures so it may be easier to pick them out, but before you claim you need to know that these are actually charges and not purchases as this may delay your claim. You may need to get back in touch with capital one to make sure

You should write again and tell them you will start court proceedings if they do not pay the remainder. Use the Letter Before Action template in Martin's Credit Card guide.

    To all...

Anybody with Capital one who applied for their statements, did you recieve a4 papers with lists of all items paid in and out but without any form of details as to what each of these payments relate to?

    My 'Statements' read as follows:-

    Statement date eg 01/01/02
    min payment due
    cred limit
    new balance

Transaction date details paid out paid in

    eg 02/01/02 ?none here -30 20.00

    Totals £30.00 £20.00

The above continues from my statement request date to 12/03/2008 when i actually get som details of what has gone on in my account eg details - Tesco £30.00

Please help how am i to know which are charges?

    x

  • Mine took about 14 days to come but they are entitled to take upto 40 days. If you don't hear from them by this time i would contact the information commissioner as you are entitled to this information by law

Hi all, great site and it's nice to see people helping each other.

My problem is.....Sent a request to capital one for my statements and enclosed a cheque for £10.

Now the 40 days have passed and still nothing, the cheque has also been cashed. So I phone them asking what's happening and I get nowhere, because they say that they can't pull up my details as account was closed 3 years ago.

I have heard that I should report them to the Information Commissioner, but how do I go about this? I have been to their site but then I get there I just get lost, so if anyone can advise me what to do, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks

I had that too, I closed my account with them in 2004 and when I phoned to request my statements they said they could not get access to my account because it had been closed more than two years ago I have already sent a request letter under DPA 21 days still nothing back. If you have sent your request letter under DPA threatening to report them if they do not respond in 40 days and that has passed I would report them, you have set the time table and they have not stuck to it you can get all the information you need on this site, Martin has all you need to know just go to the reclaiming charges section
