Evening all,
Just had a letter today from Crap1, I am claiming £1,016, the letter seems to be the same as everyone else has received, they have dropped their charges to £12 etc, goodwill payment etc, + a bit of interest of £30. The total amount they are offering me is £422. Obviously I'm not accepting this as a final settlement, I'd accept around 80 - 90%, but on the other hand, could do with £400 odd. Has anyone had any success with accepting it as a partial offer and then getting the remainder through MCOL?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yep I've done this with both Cap One and Shabby. They both paid up a smaller amount so I banked this, wrote to them said I wanted the rest, got a reply declining this so went straight to MCOL for the balance! No prob. Ignore their jargon, they will try a smaller amount just in case you cave in, but keep it and then go for the rest, is my advice! Good luck. Capital One were really easy - I got £500 in reclaimed charges in about six weeks.0

The problem we had with crap1 was that as soon as we sent them the reply saying we would accept the offer as part payment (£322 offered for a £950 claim), they wrote saying they would not pay it unless we were prepared to sign that this was our acceptance and no further claim. Obviously we were not prepared to do this and went down the FO route. Be prepared in case they try this!0

Just an update on my MCOL - due to be deemed served today, checked online and it says they have acknowledged today anyway so hopefully my cheque will be on the way soon. They are quick off the mark!0

This is totally off topic but I've sent you a couple of PM's about the ING Direct referral I did for you.
Have you read them?
Could you PM me back as I'm keen to get the matter resolved ASAP0 -
