Clydesdale must be on a roll - had a cheque for £627 today, claimed £1750 (although this was for 6 years and only entitled to 5 under scottish law). Will be replying to advise this is not acceptable.

Friend of mine claimed against Alliance & Leicester, was offered half, but then referred to Ombudsman, who then got him full amount.

Might be the way to go.

I have had no offer which is why I phoned them to-day as I had given them till 28/2/07 before I took further action but had had a letter dated 21/2 to say needed more time - I spoke to a kind gentleman who reckoned due to being snowed under it would be another 2 weeks before I heard - still not sure if should now take action or not and wait

Maybe I should add charges on for each day they go over the date I specified!!! (tongue in cheek)
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

Following my first letter and they usual standard terms and conditions response from CB, I sent a reply giving them 7 days or court, they replied saying they had re-opened my complaint and would get back to me. I had no response within 14 days of this letter so sent a 3 line letter referring to their previous correspondence, giving them another 7 days to reply or I would take matters further. They responded today (on 7th day) offering me half. Ive just finished a letter (adaped from Martins letter) requesting the full amount or I would commence court proceedings. Have retained the cheque though (but not cashed it).

Im no expert, but hope this helps!

My own opinion is id rather hound them with letters and hope they cave rather than commence court proceedings, although I will do this as a last resort!

I have just calculated my charges with interest and the total amount of charges without interest differs from the amount I originally requested. obviously I added it up wrong ) Can I change the amount I want to claim back ?
