Contract Ended - Still 30days notice

Have you missed the post #22?In terms of the reasoning for this specific timeframe for cancellation... I can only imagine that as you are billed in advance for your services networks want to set a notice that secures them the revenue already billed and the only amount of days that does just that is 30.0 -
Have you missed the post #13?I suspect that you signed a contract with them which included this as a condition of the contract? If so you have no reason to complain or be dissatisfied.
I wasn't complaining. I merely stated that the post that I replied to was OOT as it had nothing to do with the question asked by the OP, not by me.
It was exactly my point that "30 days notice is required because of the T&C, not because the contract is open-ended".0 -

Silly?
I think it's more silly to expect people to have to remember to the day their contract ends, miss by a day and you are disconnected. Would this apply to BT, virgin, Sky, British Gas, nPower etc? They all have minimum term contracts which convert to 30 day rolling service.
Do you honestly know the time and day your contract was activated?====0 -
Are you sure that, say, BT, BG, nPower require 30 day notice?
This is a genuine question as I really don't know.0 -

This is a genuine question as I really don't know.BT used to require 30 days. They then shortened it to 14 days notice... Not sure why.
BT seem to be 14 or 30 days depending on circumstance.Once we have provided the service, you may tell us to stop providing it at any time by giving us 30 days' written notice, either by email to any email address we may have given you or by letter to the address on your last BT bill or any other address we have given you, for that purpose.
If you are switching to another provider through an approved process, the notice you must give us will be 14 days. We can stop providing the service to you by giving you 28 days' written notice.
The Gas companies now seem to be 2 working days (it did use to be longer, 2 days does seem more reasonable though).
Virgin is 30 days for phone if cancelled, less if transferred.====0 -
If you fufil your minimum term it does not matter what ANY terms & conditions say, you are free to leave unpenalised.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

I have noticed over a few of your posts that you seem to believe that t&c are irrelevant and can be ignored or cherry-picked.
Any half-sensible MSE members know that to be totally without foundation and, therefore, will disregard any "advice" you may offer till you return to planet earth as it exists in 2012, not as you might fantasise how it would be if it was planet diamonds.0 -

No, because even after your minimum term ends, you are still in contract, so the T&C's still apply, including the requirement to give 30 days notice. No free lunch, and no free laptop
