Hello,
I have wrote to the Abbey requesting they pay me my bank charges back - They have sent me a letter telling me they will reply with in 4 weeks? Is this acceptable or do they have to make a offer within 14 days?
Any help would be well recived.

hi christopher
the usual answer is stick to your own time frame and not the banks, send your 2nd letter (LBA) saying that you haven't had a satisfactory answer and are now giving them 7 more days or you'll take them to court0 -
Second Letter in the post! Thank you0

I have sent all letters to my branch office - all by recorded delivery. The last letter received from them came back from the Customer Service office. The court papers have gone to the head office. There is the address for this on the forum.0 -
I have filed a claim against Abbey for £9000 using the money claim site and Abbey have filed to say they are to defend it, I am now a little concerned that they might win and I will be left with a large bill
Is there any real chance they will fight it and win?0 -
I'll pop this into the Abbey thread in a minute and you can read of other users' experiences with Abbey. You might want to read this thread regarding claims of more than £5,000.

They will send you another in 4 weeks saying they are still investigating....take them to court....0 -
Court papers have been issued to Abbey (well officially as of tomorrow). My copy has come from Northampton County Court when I assumed my local one would be Leicester. Can I get this changed?I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I started my claim back in October, following the advice from the website, all the letters were sent one by one. I am claiming approx £3400, we have had a small refund of £370 which we thanked the bank for and advised that we would now be proceeding to the small claims court
After filling in my details on the Money Claim website we waited hopefully thinking the bank wouldn't acknowledge! It did, today, with details of the solicitor and stating it's intentions to defend the whole claim. Has anyone else been at this stage (have any advice?)
The date we can enter judgement is the 11th March, though I am starting to think they may now defend the claim. I can't find any helpful details on what to do if this happens.....any help greatly appreciated!!!!0
