The judge said this was the going rate(£4.50) but didnt say where this had come from, I got the feeling he knew more about this than he was letting on. He did mention that barclays was £5 and said it was not possible to expect no charge at all from the banks.
I will try and give Abbey a ring and see what they say, I have had no contact from abbey since september 2006, i have made numerous efforts to speak to somone but everytime I have rang they state no one available to deal with this kind of query???????
Another fob off by them.
Thanks for your advise I will ring them and see if I get any joy

I just checked the Abbey website to look at their contact us page and see they have a complaints number, I would try that number and ask for the Litigation Department and if they ask why, say you want to know where to send the balliffs to!0 -
Brilliant idea thanks
Will do that now

I am new to all this , but willing to learn fast! I got all my statements from Abbey(eventually) and sent in a template letter for £1038 which was my charges plus interest. I have now got an automated letter re. "sorry to hear about your complaint blah blah , we will contact you in four weeks blah blah blah". What should I do now? I will NOT let this go, but I do need someone to hold my hand please.0
-
No time to hold your hand but this is a standard letter, don't wait the four weeks but send your next letter in your time frame.0

i sent abbey another copy of the charges because im taking them to court, i sent it by recorded delivery and they arent signing for it , i dont know what to do because when they wrote asking me for they also said they didnt know how i got to these figures, even though i sent them a copy back in december and they sent a letter back comfirming reciept of them, their 28 days is up on wednesday 27th feb and im not sure what to do . Can any one help me please0

I sent Abbey a seven day notice letter and they replied saying that they needed 4 weeks to look into the matter further. Is this a delaying tatic? Should I just go ahead and apply for a county court judgement?
As a side bar I received a phone call from a company today called DML they refused to tell me what it was about unless I answered some data protection questions which I refused to do - are they a debt recovery company as Abbey hae threated recovery proceedings against me?0 -
This is a standard letter so you do need to go on with the next step. If meantime you do have contact with a debt recovery company then tell them you are in dispute with Abbey and won't be dealing with them until it is concluded.0

Many thanks0
