This is normally a Barclaycard ploy regarding microfiche. Please have a read of this thread and go back to them and quote part of this as it involves a complaint upheld by the Information Commission.

Hi there
I waited 12 weeks for my copy statements. When they arrived I worked out £2153 of charges. I snet the next letter giving them 14 days, they wrote back asking for 4 weeks to investigate, I kept to my time scale and sent the 7 day notice before goingto court and have had no response. I can't file with money claim til next week (payday) Is it worth ringing Abbey to see if they want to settle before I start the MCOL proceedure ? What do you think ?0 -

It is recommended that all contact is made by letter, so there is a record. If you confident you know what you're doing, you may wish to call them, some people have had success. However, as they've not bothered replying to you, it may be it's only the court they will acknowledge.0 -
Yeah the solicitor asked me again for these details so i sent them then i got this letter. I think i will ring the court.

Can I ask again (sorry to be a pain) has anyone successfully received money from Abbey after going to court. I.E. Money actually in their bank account?0

I have been reading posts on here for 2 days now....after sending letters to 5 credit card companies asking for 6 years of statements.
I now realise, having read a lot of posts, that I should have sent them by recorded delivery. Should I resend the letters recorded with new cheques, or should I wait and see if any of them come up with the statements within 40 days?
I didn't send any letters recorded delivery and had no problems getting responses. Not that it was any help as I am now going to court! (Like just about everyone in this thread!)

Hi, well I sent off my letters by recorded delivery and the banks and cc companies should have got their letters today. I have internet banking with the Abbey on a joint account and also my own account (which I'm reclaiming fees on)
I have just logged on to the joint account, no problem. I logged out and tried to log on to my own account-wouldn't let me on! I logged back into the joint account-no problems!! I tried my own account a further 3 times-still would not let me back in!!
I was just wondering if people had any idea how fast banks are acting once they receive a letter requesting a list of fees for the last 6 years.0 -

They responded within the deadline...just! But they came in 2 packages, a set of statements for the past 14 months and later a big pack of copied microfiche documents showing all transactions for the previous years. Was pretty easy to trawl through though!

my parents are with Abbey and they've been charged £10 for their statements, but they too came in individual envelopes! each containing a statement and a leaflet...rubbish huh?0

I got my letter from the court today confirming my court date of 5th April and I've to call them on 30th March to see what Abbey's response is. From everything I've read I'm sure they will defend.
I am a little apprehensive about going to court but trying to stay positive in that no bank has won as yet. I'm also doubtful whether (if I do win) the money will magically appear in my account on the day but I'll stage a sit down protest in the local branch if I have to.
Will keep you posted!0
