  • Hi!
I am just in the middle of filling in my Moneyclaim form.
Where it says "Does or will your claim include any issues under the Human Rights Act 1998?" do I put yes or no?

Wasn't quite sure what it meant! :o

    Thanks

how far can you go back to claim bank charges, my mate had his bank acc closed about 4 maybe 5 yrs ago, he is askin how far back can he go and is it worth it?
  • Hi, I have gone through the whole process and last week got a letter from a solicitor saying that although they did not accept the charges were unlawful they would pay the money in full and final settlement so I just had to sign the letter to accept and send it back. Which I did, thinking I'd won....
Then this week I got a letter from the court saying a defence had been filed and I have to fill out the questionnaire and take it with £100 to the local court.....
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any advise on what to do now?

Phone the court and tell them you have accepted an offer.

Just wondering, I got a reply from HSBC yesterday morning (bog standard "we are looking into your complaint blah blah blah). When I send off the LBA do I send it to my account holding branch again or do I send it off to the "service quality team" with the reference number they have given me?

:money: I have sent them all to my branch special delivery as you do not have to sign for recorded delivery anymore. I received an offer today but I am not accepting the offer as it is less than half what I am claiming for. :money:

it either says you can send to the head office address below or your local branch

    HSBC BANK PLC
    8 CANADA SQUARE
    LONDON
    E14 5HQ

i'm just going to send mine to my local branch quoting the ref number they gave me as it will all be directed to the same place i would have thought

    good luck

Sorry another stupid question from me! I've been sending my details to the account holding branch rather than my nearest one. Is this the wrong way to do it as the branch that holds my account is around 150 miles away from where I live?

:money: Hi, I am also claimimg from Natwest Bank, I have claimed for charges and the interest that Natwest have added with the charges. The referal fee is a credit check and the period fee is bank charges that can not normally be claimed back you can try gud luk. I have today received an offer from Natwest for less than half that I am claiming for, I have just sent a letter (Special Delivery) to Natwest refusing the offer. They have said in the letter that they will consider closing our account but we have another account that we have just opened. Hope some of this is helpful. :money:

I too am trying to reclaim the "unlawful" charges added to my account. I do have all my bank statements from the last 6 years, but on looking through them I could not make head nor tail of them. So I wrote to Natwest stating I wanted a list of charges and they wrote back saying they will provide copies of my bank statements only!!

Can anyone help me! How do I know what are charges and what arent. I have looked through and charges for having a Advantage Gold account are clearly shown but that's about it!

Can I also claim for charges to my credit card? Again will I have to write to Natwest and state I want a list of charges?

    Thanking you all in anticipation!

:money: I also have an Advantage Gold account with Natwest, on your bank statements it will show as charges, mine also had interest with the charges, I claimed for both charges and Interest then I put the total on the calculator and this worked out the interest of 8%. I had an offer from Natwest which I have sent a letter by special delivery (you do not need to sign for a recorded delivery anymore) refusing the offer. Try and set up another account with another bank as Natwest have said they may close my account if I refuse the offer.
You can also claim for charges to your debit card if they are unlawful charges. Hope this is helpful info for you.:money:
  • Reclaimed almost £5000 from Lloyds TSB including "arrangement fees" for a loan and overdraft on a business account. They put in a flimsy dfefence then two days later paid money into my account without asking me. Now they are asking me to withdraw my claim-told them to withdraw their defence. Making further claim for £460-they don't learn do they!!
