I too am trying to reclaim the "unlawful" charges added to my account. I do have all my bank statements from the last 6 years, but on looking through them I could not make head nor tail of them. So I wrote to Natwest stating I wanted a list of charges and they wrote back saying they will provide copies of my bank statements only!!
Can anyone help me! How do I know what are charges and what arent. I have looked through and charges for having a Advantage Gold account are clearly shown but that's about it!
Can I also claim for charges to my credit card? Again will I have to write to Natwest and state I want a list of charges?
Thanking you all in anticipation!0 -

They have provided the information requested under the DPA. They are not obliged to provide the charges individually listed. Can anyone help me! How do I know what are charges and what arent. I have looked through and charges for having a Advantage Gold account are clearly shown but that's about it!

Hi I have question that someone else may have had the experience with before I send my letter to Barclays...
Basically the claims I wish to make are on an account I close 2 years ago. I had the account itself for nearly 10 years, sadly I got trapped in the 'charges spiral' and almost lost my flat, so of course when I had sorted that out, I naturally told Barclays what to do with the account (i.e. I went into branch & closed it down)
now I popped into the branch to obtain the account number with a view to requesting my statements. Got fobbed off with the 'it will take a LONG time and cost you a LOT of money to request the information' speech. When the assistant realised this wasn't an issue for me & I wasn't going anywhere soon, he sent me off with a leaflet on dormant bank accounts. The account in questopn isn't dormant. it's shut down
so my question is this:
If I send in Martins template 'Data protection request letter' will I need the account number, or can I expect Barclays to be able to track my details from providing my name & all known address details? This year, I will mainly be kicking some serious money saving butt!0 -

Hi!
I'm in the process of requesting statements from various accounts which I no longer have.
Send Martin's template letter but just be sure to include your full name, any addresses that were associated with the account and your date of birth and they should be able to find your details.
Good luck!0 -
I have followed Martin's procedure to the point of threatening to take them to court (I'm reclaiming about £800 across three accounts).
LTSB have now written requesting 2 weeks to consider my claim.
My worry is that I have heard that this loophole (?) is about to be closed so is LTSB playing for time?
Any thoughts? should I go for court or should I wait and see?
Thanks in advance
