Hi
Can anybody please tell me the difference between an 'item charge' and an overdraft charge? My bank have agreed to refund a £25 'item charge' because it was a standing order but they are levying another £25 for 'being overdrawn'. Can I get this last payment back too????Jesus loves you:j Everybody else thinks you're an idiot:rolleyes:0 -
This may have been asked 100 times but I am still unsure of what exactly to do.
I was to be fair a fool with money when I first left home and got myself into a just manageable debt namely overdrafts, credit cards etc. I was charged several times but have since closed nearly all of the accounts I held during that time. Naturally I disposed of the relevant statements etc.
Is there any way I can obtain these details for closed bank accounts I have held within the past 6 years, e.g. They (reluctantly) give me a breakdown of all the times I was charged would be the perfect solution.
Also does this work for credit cards and loans too. Any replys would be a great help :rotfl:
thanks :T0 -
just called hsbc who state they will take 40, yes 40 WORKING days for them to arrive with me?
Any views0 -
That's right, it seems 40 days is the norm and some seem to stretch it out a bit longer, just hang on for the 40 'wildeness' days. They all seem to come round in the end

If you don't know what the charges mean, phone your bank and ask, although you should be able to reclaim a charge for being overdrawn.0 -

I am claiming £1700 from MBNA, today i recieved a cheque for £760 from them "as a good will gesture". Now i know that i should ignore this and carry on with things but what i wanted to ask is. Should i send the cheque back with my 3rd letter, or just keep it to one side?
thanks in advance.0 -
As its unusual to get a cheque I'd keep it to one side and reply that you accept this in part payment with prejudice and will be persuing them for the rest.0
