Received my statements back today (day 29) from the alliance & leicester.

Got straight to work on the tallying up, to my amazement the final total is £2368.50 + £314.16 interest.

Anybody had any experiences with the A&L?

Well after my success with reclaiming my charges back from Halifax, and been in the middle of claiming for charges on my current credit card accounts, I thought I would start on my closed accounts.

I got an up-to-date copy of my credit report and went through all the accounts on there and sent letters to each company requesting statements so I am now also claiming from the following:

    Capital One (2 accounts)
    Mint
GE Capital (various store card accounts)
    Littlewoods
    Freemans
    Grattan
    Egg
    Barclaycard
    Natwest

Looking at this list I realise how stupid I was when I turned 18 and thought it would be fund to get cards!

Oh well - lets hope I get something back from them :o

Has anyone has any dealings with any of the above?

Sorry for bumping and thank you for the link - I didn't realize it had only been 20 mins - I only bumped it as I know how busy it gets on here - (not making excuses x) I'm normally a lot more disciplined when waiting for an answer :o

I had a credit card with RBS defaulted and account was passed on to a collection agency. Can I go after the card company directly for the charges before they transfered the account to the agency.
  • Hiya, I'm an avid reader of all moneysavingexpert threads but this is the first time i have asked a question. Please bear with me.

Could anyone tell me if i could claim my bank charges from the Clydesdale Bank. This is in Scotland so i don't know if this makes a difference.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I have a couple of questions.

I posted in the Lloyds thread about them being complete idiots (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=3955770#post3955770 & http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=3972117#post3972117) ...anyway...

I've sent my second letter to them and have recieved the standard reply about me agreeing to charges when my account was setup etc....

I'm now proceeding onto the next letter threatening them with court action.
    My questions are:

    1. Since sending the first letter, they have charged me a further £165. Can I add this on to the total amount (as a revised figure)?

    2. They have taken charges out of my benefits. Should I do the seperate thing whereby I send them a letter telling them I have first "dibs" or wait until this proceeding is complete? Because I'm overdrawn (as they refuse to stop charging me, therefore a snowball effect has generated) and the only money going in is my benefit, how do I pay the charges off?

    3. I believe the bank has actually worsened my financial situation due to several factors. Where can I complain to?

    Help would be appreciated!

    Thanks :)

Yep, you can but you can only go back 5 years. In England it's 6 years.

    hth, :)
