i have just filled in all the forms at MCOL against ABBEY but have not paid yet. i have had a phone call from the FO stating it most likely will not take 6 - 9 months for it to be resolved, but said it may be quicker if i did go with MCOL with the information that i got from this site. when it says it takes 5 days for the claim to be serviced does that mean it will take 5 days for a letter to be sent to ABBEY? and is the 5 days from when you submit the claim?
just a note to all ABBEY customers filing a claim dont let them bully or intimidate you. they will drag cases out as long as they can.

I have filed with MCOL against HSBC, they were served on Fri 5th May, they then acknowledged and their 28 days is up on Friday 1st June. I can see from reading these forums that they're likely to file a defence at the last minute, but just in case they don't, when can I hit the button for judgement? First thing on the 2nd, or do I have to wait until the end of their 28th day, which would take me on to a Saturday?

You can try it on friday, as it will not let you do it if its too soon.

I thought LLoyds had another day when i pressed the button, but it went through.

i am thinking of claiming interest on top of my claim when i take it to court. when calculating interest do i take it from the date that i was first charged (29/7/2001) or from when i sent my first letter (26/2/2007)?

Hi all, ref my earlier post, I've managed to obtain current account, credit card and loan reference numbers for my Barclays accounts from 12 years ago (although they were closed 10 years ago). The kind gent from Barclays told me two things that may be of interest to you:-

    - That they hold 12 years worth of account data (not sure if this is Barclays only though).
    - I can obtain it all free of charge from a Barclays branch as they can print it off there and then (he advised that if they say it'll cost £5, then say no as charges can only be applied to copied statements).

Not sure how accurate the above is but this was from an employee at Barclays Customer Services.

Will I be able to claim as far back as 12 years? And can I claim anything on a defaulted loan (not sure if there was any charges - I believe it was handed over to their collections poeple).

    Cheers all,

Money Claim online, an online court service, linked in Martin's article.
  • After today hearing that Lloyds TSB had won a case i was quick to check the progress of my claim, i followed the process set out exactly and my bank filed a defence on the 26th April, as this was 17 days ago i contacted my local court to find out when the case will go before them, the date they have given me is the 17th August is there anyway i can get this pushed forward as i am keen to get this finalised before OFGEM rule on it.
