Well, HSBC waited until their 28days were just about up to put forward their defence of my claim. I have no details yet so will wait to see what court it is transferred to.
    Woo hoo!!

    Hi

Hope someone can help me. I wrote to Barclays bank some time ago to request copies of my statements, giving them the 40 days as outlined in the template letter. After about 50 days, I telephoned them and was told that there was a backlog and it would be looked into. Two days later, I received copies of my statements for last six years and calculated how much I could reclaim. Again I used the template letter to write and request all charges back with interest, giving them 14 days to respond.

Exactly 14 days later, I received a letter from them, stating that they were sorry I was unhappy with the charges and my complaint would be looked into. It also stated that it hoped to respond to me within 4 weeks but it could take up to 8 weeks to respond.

Obviously they are playing for time and hoping I will give up on this. Has anyone else had this or can anyone advise me what my next step should be. I really do not want to wait 8 weeks but don't know where I stand on this.

    Helppppppp!!!

    Thanks.

    Hi everyone,
I am brand new to this forum so please bear with me if this question has been asked before.

I am with Lloyds Tsb and have written to the PO Box number shown on the cheque book to get copy statements. These I received as the 40 days were basically up from their Copy Statement Unit in Birmingham.

    My question is:
Do I send the letters to actually reclaim the charges to the original PO Box number shown on the cheque book (which I believe to be either head or a regional office) or actually take them into the local branch by hand, (bearing in mind that the branch address appears nowhere on official paperwork).

My feeling is to send the letters to the original PO Box I wrote to, but I am wary of the bank using stalling tactics by saying I wrote to the wrong address.
Has anyone any comments or experience that may be useful, please?

    Hi

I recently closed my self select investment ISA with TDWaterhouse - was staggered by the closure and admin charges which exceeded £90.

The T&Cs clearly showed these charges but that doesn't make it anymore palatable.

Do I have grounds for a claim ?

From this thread, I think you want this address

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=400981

    Lloyds Bank;

    Swallow House
    10 Swallow Street
    Birmingham
    B1 2AL

But check the thread as there is a London address for Lloyds - headoffice?

I would send another letter stating that they have a further 14days to return the charges or you will proceed to court without any further warnings. And if no joy go to court as i did

    Hi

Need some advice re: HSBC. Have sent letter requesting charges to be refunded. Standard letter received saying they will look into the matter. LBA sent 2 weeks ago, no response to that, so will be issuing court proceedings shortly.

However, 10 days ago tried to withdraw funds via Link. The machine swallowed my card, which I found very strange considering I have been a lot more O/D in the past than I am now. The cynical side of me wonders if this was anything to do with the LBA I sent earlier that week? ;)

Anyway - after trying to call, and getting nowhere, have prepared a letter to be sent to my branch asking for their comments.

My question is: Will sending that letter prejudice my case or should I wait until proceedings are complete?

    TIA for your comments

Third time of bumping and hoping....Many thanks

The letter is totally separate to you ongoing case. I would go into the branch and sort it face to face. Harder for them to brush you off.

What rot, just an obligatory letter, I got the same 'bog off' letter, carry on regardless, after the LBA do your claim on money claim online will cost you around 120 but you will get it back when they pay out. THEY WILL PAY OUT dont be phased Iv had two claims back from them in the past month one for 1k and one for 1,900. skeggsy
