I now have info going back to 2004, they have said they will send the info prior to 2004 as soon as they can. They are getting until Monday then I am complaining again! Suppose at least I got my £10 back!

Be careful. I have a friend with Abbey and they took a long time to send he anything then when they finally did they had removed some of the charges. So she paid to have duplicate statements sent and sure enough they did not match the ones she had.

Having seen this kind of deception posted previously I made a suggestion in the Abbey thread a while ago to check the 'brought forward' balance against the 'current balance' and barring all shown transactions any amount not accounted for on the statement can safely be regarded to be 'hidden' charges. I was going to test this theory on receipt of my own details.

I received 14 months statements initially, as is their method of producing part of the data. Although the front of the statements looked different to the originals, in that they did not show the usual pending charges & interest section, they did clearly show charges on the back. I didnt have any charges missing and the comparison between the brought forward and current amounts balanced fine.

The only problem I have with Abbeys statements is that the new system they have brought in to get this data to claimants quicker is in the form of a table which does not show the date charged. It is to their credit that the charges are clearly shown and any refunded is shown seperately for easy reference. That really saved my eyes trawling statements. The lack of a date of charge I will overcome by using the usual monthly statement date to calculate interest and let them tell me I cant :p

    Getting fed up..

Yesterday i wrote about using judgement, unfortunatley Natwest solicitors "cobbetts", have filed a defence at the last minute.

I presume this is standsrd at this stage, but it states that we have gone over the 6 years, this is true because we waited the the 8 weeks that natwest asked us too, before we went to MCOL.

I have read about an allocation questionare, but not recieved one from the solicitors.

    1. Where do i get this questionare from????
    2. Will this now cost me more money to continue the claim???

MCOL says my judgement request has been accepted, and the order has been sent to defendant.

Does that mean i won, and if so, what now?

And what is the warrant button for?

  • Hi

I am new to the forum and noticed a few people are having difficulty claiming back charges from natwest. I have previously claimed charges back although i settled at just under half the amount they owed me because i needed the money, since then they have continued to charge me again.

I have wrote 4 letters in total 2 each to each of the people who wrote to me regarding my initial claim but havent had anything back off them as yet.

Just wondering what my next step will be, will I have to write to them again using the template provided which states i will take them to court?

Any help will be appreciated as Im at a loss now about what to do.

I dont know if you are registered but my sister found all her old statements online with Lloyds TSB so you might be able to do that.

( has also sent a letter over a week ago and still has no reply)

  • Hi first time on here, some help really needed and will be appreciated.

Trying to reclaim my daughters bank charges from lloyds tsb. Shes a student who has had this account since she was 16 (now 22) and like most students has had a lot of charges over the 6 years. She is also charged 10 a month to actually have the account.
Anyway I sent the first letter to the bank to ask for the charges over the 6 months to which they replied saying aload of rubbish like they do but said the copies of her statements will be with us within three weeks that was the 20th of march we still haven't received them.
The telephone number on the letter is non existent so she phoned her bank who have given her another number to phone which is constently engaged.
My only problem being the letter which she did receive stated if they don't her from her by 15/05/07 they will close her file

    What do I do next??????????????????????????????????

    Some help much appreciated

First letter sent to the bank on the 27th feb 07
