Day 39 of the 40 days is tommorow. So far hsbc has failed to respond to my request detail on my charges and i somewhat doubt if they will by Friday 27th,April.
Does anyone out there have the most direct address to send my claim (HSBC)to as i will be issuing them with my court papers on day 40.
They have no hesitation in unlawfully charging me the second i go overdrawn so the gloves are off...and the small claims process is easy to follow, and so far I've got a 100% track record 2 out of 2 wins.

Hi guys. I am a newbie to all this so would appreciate some help.

I sent off a letter for my two HSBC accounts on 10th April claiming a total of about £2300 in charges over the last 6 years (one month, the lovely bank decided to charge me £450 in charges - taken out within a week!)

I received a written letter from them dated the 17th and 18th April for each account to say that they are "looking into the matters raised" and will contact me with a "full response as soon as possible".

I got confused while reading the forums on this site and sent my initial letter and copies of bank statements to the Data Protection Controller at MY BRANCH, not the Canada Square address as someone suggested inan earlier post. Does this mean that I need to send all the intial letter info again to the Canada Square address, or just proceed with my second letter to my branch?

I really need to get this sorted ASAP as I am pregnant and any money we get back from these charges is helping towards baby costs!

    Thanks in advance guys...

    Hi again

I have just called Royal Mail to find out what DATE the bank signed for my letters/bank statements (even though I know they have received them as I have received acknowledgement letters from the bank) but it turns out that while I paid for recorded delivery, they never bothered to get a signature form the bank! they are now going to reimburse me with, wait for it, STAMPS! Cheeky!

Anyway - can anyone advise me as to when I should send my follow up letter asking for the banks response? Do I have to wait 2 weeks, 4 weeks (or from reading some posts 8 weeks?!?!) HELP!

    Thanks

Welcome to anyone coming to this brand new board after reading Martin's updated article on the Main Site :D

To any users who haven't had an answer to their question on the old discussion thread please feel free to place it here and hopefully someone will have an answer for you.

If you want to ask a question about a specific bank please check the boards to see if you can find a dedicated thread to your bank and pop your question on there.

Don't forget to put your Success story on this thread when you complete your claim and good luck. :)

If you have not sent the LBA then you need to do that, if you have sent the LBA then you need to file the claim at court using the N1 or MCOL.

All of the banks will send out a letter saying they have 4/6/8 weeks to respond, you need to follow your timescale and send your next letter if you haven't had a satisfactory reply in the timescale (14 days) that you gave the bank.

Have a read of the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature for lots of useful information and links to the main threads on the board.

  • Hiya, I'm new to this so sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. A&L have refused to repay my charges and today I am going to complete the court papers. However, since I put my claim in for £1372.85 (including interest) the bank have taken at least another £300 in charges so can I claim this back at the same time or can I only claim the £1372.85 I initially asked for? I would really appreciate some help in this

Yes, when you file at court or through MCOL this is the last time you can add charges to your claim.
  • Me again with another situation!!!
Done everything right with the templates etc(Lloyds TSB), usual responses .Ready to file mcol now for my partners business account. But something strange has happened!!! My partner ,stupidly i know ,Let this business account just drift on with him 2000 overdrawn (mostly charges) and had no contact with the bank for three years or so. Yesterday i made him ring the bank to see what state the account was in now. When he rang, they said they had closed the account in 2005!! What about the overdraft?? Dare i still claim the charges back or should i let it go?? any help please? thanks xx
