My 40 day responce period is up today and I have not recieved my statements or list of charges.
I have two questions
1) is the 40 day period 40 straight days or 40 working days
2) Barclays sent me a letter saying they had recieved my letter and i would hear from them shortly (they even sent the cheque back)
TIA paul
I would be grateful of any advice as any money back would be great right now!
Cheers

Hi leechy,
If you have sent a letter asking for the refund of the money within the 14 day period, then if I were you i'd threaten court action. I'm in the process of reclaiming from hsbc and sent my statements yesterday. If I dont hear by day 14 then the court letter will be sent !!0 -
Hi Guys! Ive sent the halifax my second letter 2 weeks ago and shoudl now be making arrangements to go to court. But ive checked my recorded delivery slip online and its showing that they cant confirm that my letter has been delivered.
Does this mean I have to wait till i do get confirmation or send the letter again before I can proceed with the courts????
Thanks for your help xxx0 -

My letter to the halifax is also showing that they can not confirm it has been delivered and my letter was sent on the 30th March.
what address did you send it toMy Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!0 -
Just a quick note to say a big thanks to Martin for prompting me to claim my charges. I've just received £2,500 back from the Halifax. Not absolutely everything they owed me but it was a decent offer and I needed the cash. Still feels like free money somehow even though it clearly isn't! I don't know if this is the same experience for anyoen else but the Halifax, once you've hassled thema bit by phone etc, seem quite prepared to negotiate to get things done quickly and avoid any admin/paperwork their end. Anyway, again - big thanks Moneysaverexpert.com!0

I sent the first letter to my bank last week and today they have replied.
They are sending my STATEMENTS for 6 years, NOT the Charges info that I requested. They have returned my £10 cheque saying the info will be provided free of charge.
I will have to wade through all these statements.
They have provided me with an ext no on their phone line should I wish to discuss this.
What should I do please?0 -
Can someone please help me. I have paid £120 in court fees to reclaim unfair bank charges from Nationwide over six years. A Notice was issued by the court to Nationwide. When I applied for judgment by default on the 10th April, no acknowlegment had been received by the Court and my request was accepted. An acknowledgment from Nationwide appeared later in the day.
Today I have noticed a message "rejected" claim cannot continue further online".What does this mean .Have I lost the £120. Can I continue you to claim for unlawful charges from Nationwide.0 -
I have sent all my charge in and asked for the charges to be refunded as per
instructions
they have replied saying they are lookin into it but they are allowed 8 weeks
to investigate my claim is this correct or will i continue with the court
