 oh my word!!!......I've just gone on ebay, because I was having a break from housework, typed in "reclaim charges"...low & behold people are charging up to £20 a throw just to do what we are all doing on here :naughty: ......someone out there is nieve enough to give a complete stranger on ebay ALL their account details in order for them to do this!!! shocking

    Added:...........someone is charging £149...... jeeeez!

What ? Some people know how to use ebay but not google ? Dear oh dear. :p

Got to add though, the few times I have asked a question on this site and been answered quickly and in the detail I needed, well thats something you cant put a price on. I look forward to completing my claims and making a donation to this sites costs as a token of gratitude :)

Ooh I didn't know we could contribute to this site, if & when I win I was going to buy a memorial tree & plaque for my mum (one of her last wishes) & also give a little something to the hospice that looked after her. I'd be interested if you can point me in the contributions direction for this site for future reference :D

I luckily retained all bank statements and calculated that the bank charges totalled with interest just over £5000. I wrote to Branch Manager at Natwest on 26th Feb, received no responce. Wrote again 12th March again no response and then wrote threating court action letter on 22nd and yes you guessed it still no responce.

I know the next step should be MCOL but not easy with no credit card and no money available on debit card. Can anybody suggest any other tactics I could employ to at least get some sort of responce???

I don't want to appear as desperate but as you can imagine I most definately am.

    Any good advice gratefully received.

    Thanks
Please don't stall anymore. My eldest claimed against Natwest same day as you in Feb and after 2nd letter he has just received his written offer of £1300 a £100 less than what he asked for. Don't let them get away with this. I don't see how one person can get it and others get stalled by the same Bank.

Like you say I can't understand why some get some sort of result quite quickly and others like myself are getting ignored. In addition I can not believe they have the gaul to ignore customers letters, I'm sure I wouldn't get away with just ignoring them.

Would anybody recommend me contacting them by telephone??? Or going to Natwest Head Office rather than the branch???

The son who got his offer today used to work for HBOS and knew what to say so I suppose he had a better chance than most of us and he phoned them twice after the 2nd letter. Try 0845 3030456. Hope this helps anyone with Natwest.

Thats a lovely idea to do something like that for your mum and the hospices and staff work so hard, with such compassion and care, that they deserve every penny anyone can give them in my opinon.

As for this site I honestly dont know how you contribute, I just assume and hope you can, because I want to eventually. A pm to one of the board guides might yield some help on that if they dont see this and post with some advice. This isnt one of those sites that has a dirty great 'contribute' button right where you cant help but see it so I dont know sorry :)
  • Ok I have sent my letter away asking for my charges of £2445.50 to be reunded and would like a response with in 14 days. They should receive it on Monday. What is my next step? Should they refund me within the 14 days. I have used the template letter.

request for refund sent to halifax for £2445.50 30/3/07
request for charges sent to halifax CC 30/3/07
