    AGGGGHHHHHH Help !!

I recieved an offer from my bank First Direct for all but 80.00 of my claim which was for 2544.66, which is great, BUT I sent the acceptance form back to them over a week ago, and have heard nothing, I have phoned the bank several times, and just keep getting fugded off, they said they cant put me through to the legal department as they dont have a phone number for them  ! I am getting extremely frustrated with them, my allocation questionaire is due back to the courts next monday with a further 100.00, and I am a bit unsure what to do next, do I give the bank untill Thursday and then send the allocation questionarie off, and can I then claim back the extra 100 ? bearing in mind that I have signed the acceptance form ? And any ideas on me bugging the bank any more than I am already doing, ( 2 or more phone calls a day )

Any help greatly appreciated and sorry for long post :D
Any help with this one ? am a bit stuck now

Yes but dont worry too much on that basis alone. Some banks indicate they will defend and sometimes this is to have the effect of delaying resolution and intimidating the claimant. Not all banks actually file a defence. Deal with it if and when they do and good luck :)[/QUOTEHi Twinkly,
I am in a simler possion as yourself, i.e claiming back six years of charges amounting to over £2.000. Well have gone through the letter part now into the Court part ,Sent the order to them, they got back to me after a few days with the defence part, now they are asking me to send them another letter with all the charges on and the interest charges, how i worked them out,Has they are unable to get the first set of letters i sent them.Has they dont have access to there files. So shall i forward these on again or tell them to sort it out with there outher office, any advice, anyone hoofhearted84949466

I would ask them how on earth they manage to communicate to a legal dept that has no phone number. Hard to believe that although they can contact them internally that no one from the outside world can. Given that they can contact them ring and advise that unless a reply is received within 7 days you will commence court action. They've had long enough. Good luck :)
  • Hi All, Could Someone Give Me Some Advice Please. Barclays Owe Me £1310.00 Just Talked To Them On The Phone And Theyve Offered Me £985.00 . If I Send The Letter Which Threatens Legal Action, Claiming £488.00 Interest On Top, Does Anyone Know If They Make A Second Offer Or Do They Tell You To Shove It.

This is common when you get to court stage. General advice is to just send them the list again and not delay things. Send them recorded delivery so you know they have them then and they cant deny it. Good luck :)

Hi Redruby i followed some advice from peeps on this site and looked on the 'Consumer Action Group' site. It has alot of information and letter templates for different stages of claiming including how to fill out the Allocation Questionare and legal advice. Hopefully that will be of some help to you. Yes you have time to claim. I believe you may be worried about the forthcoming OFT announcement. Please dont be it wont affect your ability to claim. Bank charges are unlawful and will stay that way until a court decides theyre not. For this to happen the banks would have to disclose their true costs in court and that isnt going to happen.

    Good luck :)
