Good morning all,
I am currently trying to recover the charges from Natwest going back 6 years.
I wrote initially and they offered 40% of the amount claimed. I have written a number of times since and telephone called, then faxed at their request copies of coorospondance (which has mainly been mine as except for the initial offer, have not returned any letters)
As a last resort i completed the online court application as suggested and they have indicated they intend to defend and have entered their solicitors details.
What is best to do now, do i just wait for their defence to be provided?
Thanks for your advice.

Its a bit odd that you havent heard anything at all. I'd give them a quick phonecall to see if there are records of the letters being received. This is where sending letters recorded delivery would have given you peace of mind.
Morning Twinkly, just a quick question......
Is delivering my 1st claim letter to my local branch by hand just as good as sending it recorded delivery as I definitely know they got it.0 -
hi , i just had an offer from Natwest of £4047.00 in full settlement. but they are telling me it has to go towards a loan which i defaulted on in both mine and my ex-wifes name after all these charges were applied. Can the bank do this.. is this the only way i can get my cash back. Any advice would be very greatfully received.0

Hi I am a new member of the site and am currently trying to get my money back form the Nat West I have requested my bank statments which cam back very quickly. I then sent back letter 2 along with all the revant details and they had upto the 27th of March to respond however today (24th March) I recieved a letter stating
"I am sorry thar we have not yet been able to respond to you and would ask that you bear with us in the meantime. We are currently investigating and will respond to you within 21 days"
can anyone give me advise as to whether I should accept this and wait the 21 days or push on with letter 3.
Thanks in advance0 -

Hi, no stick to the timescales mentioned on the templates on here. I claimed from natwest & they were pretty quick after i sent the letter threatening court action. Paid up full amount i asked for less interest which is fair enough, money was in account within 2 days of me sending acceptance form back, no problems. Good luck.0 -

hi the letter i sent was off another website and states at the bottom of my letter to refund my charges into my account within the next 7 days. would it not be easier to phone them. im worried they are going to tell me that they have to follow certain procedures and their policies.0

just spoke to hbos about statements, if you speak to them they will send a letter to their complaints dept. and you will definately recieve some sort of offer!! it also cuts out the looking through all your charges part as they are doing this for you. they will also contact you within 5 working days of the letter that they are sending for you!! hbos told me that they will offer within 2 weeks of phone call!! get dialing!! and good luck0

hi there,
phone them if you feel okay doing this but confirm anything said in writing and get the name of person you speak to.
The advice on this site is always to stick to your own timetable not theirs.
Read through other posts and success stories and you will feel more confident about continuing your claim.
My opinion is they will just keep dragging things on/delaying if they can.0
