So glad came on this site. Just got £360 back from the co op bank they didnt pay the interest on the charges but am happy with the money. Sent me a letter saying hope it restores your faith in us. Just waiting to hear from First Direct now.

Hello to everyone online today.
Please can someone advise me on the following:-
I posted back my statements highlighting the charges applied to my account and this was received by the above bank on the 14.03.2007.
I received a letter today from my bank to advise that they have 8 weeks to investigate this complaint regarding FSA PROCEDURES although I sent the template letter of requesting the refund of charges within 14 days as advised.
Please can someone advise if this is correct and what action do I need to do after the 14 days is up.
When I rang the bank today querying this and the 14 day timescale the agent was rather abrupt and terminated the call when I requested to speak with her Manager as she was not helpful at all.0 -
I've always been careful (and lucky enough) not to incur any bank charges so although it's interesting, the whole claim-your-charges back thing was never of any use to me... however my brother has never been that careful with money so I emailed him the details and he got £100 back. Git!
He had a good laugh at him getting a windfall and me getting nothing cos I was careful :rotfl: And now he's using the money to go to Paris with his other half!!
I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -

That's disgusting - if you ask to speak to the manager they cannot refuse and end the call!
Just stick to your own timescales not theirs. If they haven't replied within the time you have given them, continue onto the next step0 -
I am a bit confused as to when I can file for judgement by default. My claim was acknowledged by Barclays on 6th March, 13 days after it was deemed as served. Does that mean today is the 14 day deadline for them to defend it or do they get another 14 days from today?
Yes they have another 14 days from the 6th but believe you me they will put in a defence as they have with me. Their defence against me was put in on the 15th and i received questionairre today from the court. This form looks very easy to fill in and the court date will be sometime in the next 4 months!! also there is another £100 charge at this stage.
You will see in an earlier thread the points they say they are defending, but i think its a load of old mumbo jumbo!!0 -
I am currently going through my egg credit card statements and have noticed that on some of the statements they have charged me merchandise interest and on others they have not. Can anybody let me know if I can claim these charges back where they have charged me sometimes up to £40.00 a month.
Cheers
Just a guess but merchandise interest sounds like the purchases interest on my old capital one card so my opinion is no, you cant claim this.0 -

From the date of acknowledgement they have 14 days to enter a defence so count from then. Today is the day by my reckoning let us know whether they filed or you got judgement by default ? thanks0 -
I sent my template letter with cheque to the actual branch were i opened my account.
Is this correct ?
Thanks for any help.0 -

You'll find the guide to filling in the AQ in the Reclaim Help Thread, linked in my signature and if you have any problems with it there is a thread for questions.

Also Capital One have offered me the difference between £20 and the £12.00 that they charge now for late payments. I claimed £300 and they will offer me £120.00.
Should I send them their letter saying I will start court proceedings. It's Tesco I am more bothered about.
Please Advise
you are entitled to the full amount from both so I advise to go as far as you are comfortable with. For me that would be to court. Good luck0
