Has he done everything he wants to in life, gone everywhere?? There maybe something he's always wanted to learn etc, or even someone he's wanted to meet..............you may be able to make it happen for him

When was his 'heyday', you could do a 20's/30's/40's night in hamper, might take a bit of sourcing but could be fun for both of you ;) There's always memorabilia on Ebay, programmes/tickets/signs/music/films etc etc
    Sounds a lovely idea :)

I know it's sad how people can "hoof out" their family pets whenthey get old... Some have really genuine reasons, like moving abroad and putting an older dog through a quarenteen could be unfair and that is a tough choice to have to make. Some people go into care and can't take their beloved pets, and the Oldies will step in and help. But some are just plain "unfashionable" and those make me SO angry!

Thats a nice idea...would take loads of thought, perhaps my mum could help (not that she was round then LOL!) but he really enjoyed his recent day out to Beamish (old english style village i think) so perhaps another day out like that to Wigan Pier, Iron Bridge etc. could be included in a 'war days' hamper :T thanks!! i will let you all know how i get on and thanks so much for your ideas! much appreciated!!

If he is interested in the war then Eden Camp near York is a fantastic day out. My favorite bit was singing "run rabbit run" in the cinema!!!

  • uummmm wondering if SSB is still wrapping pressies ;)

Did you manage to finish them?

I always am really good at buying my pressies early (from car boots, sales etc) but dreadful at wrapping :(
Every year is the same I leave it till the last minute.
You've inspired me to wrap at least 5 pressies each week and then just add the bows and bits nearer the time.
I've just put a date of the 1st November on my calendar that I need to start wrapping on. If I dont I'm not allowed a little treat for myself when I reach Christmas Tree level (hey have to be tough on myself :(

If you wrap them now make sure that they are somewhere the paper can't get damaged and make sure you mark them so you know who they are for! Otherwise come nearer christmas you might have to unwrap them to find out and then re-wrap them again :)
