Hi
i am looking to attach a christmas wreath to my front door in december, but the problem is i have a glass door, so drawing pins wont work!! has anyone got any other ideas please? I havent brought it yet as im not sure how i will fix it on.
cheers
Was just looking through Lakeland's christmas ideas catalogue that plopped through the door this morning, saw a suction thing - indoor and outdoor use, for £2.99. Its called "hang-a-wreath" and its on page 12 of their christmas catalogue. Also to be found here on their website if anyone wants it.
Hope that helps!

 Arghhh, just lost my long post.... Thank you for the motivational thoughts, I managed to wrap 25 presents in three hours:eek: and I remembered to write a list what's in them. Sometime soon , closer to Christmas my beloved husband will utter the words...erm, what have got for my brother, sister, uncle, friends etc...
My DS and DD will wrap their teachers/schoolfriends presents. I bought really nice giftbags in order to avoid severe overuse of sellotape. I do not usually buy from catalogues but Studio had some really good offers this time. I bought 12 Christmas mugs ( comes with 12 free sideplates) for under £10, children will fill these with sweets and hot choc sachets. These will be gifts for their friends/teachers, at least if they do not like them, they can be put away after the festivities:p .
Now I'm looking forward to all the Christmas fayres. Ohh, that reminds me... Someone gave me a recipe for a cake that lasts a year and I promised to bake two for my children's school Christmas fayre. I'll let you know how they turned out... I will try to bake them soon just in case the results are disasterous.
Christmassy thoughts to all, I will make a cup of tea now and look smugly upon my 25 wrapped presents.........you should be pleased.
Now you put me to shame
Going to be more organised with wrapping this year...going to be more organised with wrapping this year....going to be more organised with wrapping this year...going to be more organised with wrapping this year...YES DEFINITELY AM0 -
Sending you motivational thoughts and severe kicks to the backside.... you WILL be more organised with wrapping this year...SSB0

Hi Everyone - hope you are having a good day.
I hope you dont mind my popping in to say that I think this thread is FAB! :j
I'm running out of time on my lunch break but I love the idea of those pots of gold/poems. Apologies if this has already been explained but can I just check that (a) you buy the lottery tickets all at the same time (would it be for the xmas day draw?) (b) whether you can buy the scratch card games in advance and (c) can you tell me how you do the poem, is it on a piece of card/labels.
Sigh ... the 2pm bell tolls ... will pop back later.
Well done everyone for being so organised and thanks for the great tips/ideas ... keep them coming!

They can be done in different ways....
In wine glasses with gold pen decorating them (swirls are easy and sometimes a persons name) and a gold gift tag tied around the stem. I have then used mine to name the seats at the dinner table on christmas eve (we have xmas dinner on christmas eve)
In gold baskets with a label tied to the side
One year I did them in terrocota pots and sprayed gold and used card.
I did use a small hurrican lamp one year lol and just put everyones in the same pot.
I normally buy the scratch cards (last year there was an actual gold one) but i have bought the christmas lottery ones too.
Is that what you wished to know?....I think there is more info here....

Hello again :hello: , is the gift wrapping happening yet...? I will sort out all the rest of my presents this week, DD and DS will wrap theirs too. Please now send me motivation to bake this cake for Christmas fayre.
Ohhh, I just realised, is it time to do the oranges decorated with cloves now ( grrr, I cannot remember what they are called)? They need some serious drying time if I remember correctly? I did some last Christmas and they were lovely, but apparently you should do them quite early in order for them to dry and last longer.
Take care everyone.SSB0 -
I have sorted out most of my pressies already, just to get a couple of bits for my teenage son so am on the lookout for deals on wireless headphones and clarins products for men.
Just to get organised with the giftwrapping now.Dearest OH had a mad clear out in the spring while I was out,he tidied the cupboard under the stairs and helpfully disposed of all my wrapping bits, oddments, ribbons, bags and boxes so I am having to start from scratch again this year.
This year I am trying to do it on the cheapest of cheap and plan to use fancy wallpaper to wrap up the grown ups gifts at least.I have seen some gorgeous red, gold, silver papers in my local B&Q,they will look very luxurious on parcels with a nice bit of velvet ribbon tied round.
Oh and the best bit is I can get decent sized wallpaper sample pieces, certainly big enough to wrap up presents,FOR FREE!!!"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
