  • Has anybody on here ever made their own Christmas Crackers. Any suggestions of how to do this or where I could buy a kit cheaply?

www.hawkin.com do a kit £4.99 for six crackers. p + p extra unless you have a Hawkin's Bazaar near you. The other way round if you just want to put your own presents inside is to buy a packet of crackers open and empty them and replace with items of your choice.

We made them at school years ago, used toilet roll tubes, and you can buy the snappers seperately.

  • Can't wait til tomorrow - then I can officially start buying Xmas things as only 2 x pay days until then, so I am now justified in starting to search & buy :D Will put it all on credit card then cash in my year's earnings from cashback sites to pay for it all - spending other people's cash is so much nicer, I am sure the brandy snaps will taste all the better this year :T :p;)

We used buy ready made plainish ones then refil them and redecorate them too, works really well. My mum started doing this rather than making them from scratch when I worked out I could damage myself and the furniture by gathering up a handful of snaps and pulling them together. You get fire if you have enough (and some acetone, and some dry cotton wool)....

I wasn't ever allowed party poppers either.... :D

How about using a suction cup such as the ones you get for bathroom accessories such as http://www.inspirationsbathrooms.com/invt/hooky1037&bklist=
