  • Just got the new WOolworths book (althought admittedly not a Christmas gift guide) and there is no mention of the 3 for 2 that they usually do in the run up to Christmas. Does anyone know if they plan to do it this year? I buy loads of stuff with that offer and really will miss it if it doesn't happen!
  • Everyone got there Matalan mail shot? I was sooooo excited because it came in a present shaped envelope!

Last year got almost all my things from Matalan during the 10% off period, and will look through what/for whom I still have to get and nip in tomorrow and aim to get everything as a 3 for 2, and will manage to basically complete my remaining gifts as the voucher is valid for a spend over £30.

Will just keep boyfriends presents til after Halloween to buy then sit back smug and think, my oh my within a year I cleared my overdraft, credit card, and PLANNED for Christmas and budgeted for it. Hmmm, January is going to have a very strange feeling of calm cast over it for me I think!

Thanks again everyone for all your motivation!

Today got 1st xmas pressie, a little book for my husband called 'Don'ts for husbands' and it's really cute tiny book with things from 1913 about how a husband should be - it's nice and not at all critical, just very sweet, they also have one for wives, I picked it up in WHSmith and it will be a little sticking filler for a laugh.

i have finally gone through all the boxes of presents that I have bought all year round and its ended up that I only now have to buy 9!! I'm well happy!! Min you, its a bit pants thats Woolworths hasn't got 3 for 2 this year. I always get my choccies from there.
You're so very special, I wish I was special

  • What's happened - has everyone on this thread finished getting ready for Christmas already?

I had hoped to get the children's stockings done last month, but what with one thing and another, I have only just got them started. Doesn't help that we live such a long way from any decent shops! And it's half term soon. I won't get much done with them under my feet (mutter mutter). Must try and have a shopping day next week and get to places like Primark.

    How is everyone else doing?

I have barely started  i have my 6 year old a few bits inc optimus prime thats a big pressy sort of at nearly £40 :doh:oh and that great disney cars find on the grab it board, still alot more to get including a playstation 2 with games and accessories:(
I have no clue what to get my 18 month son, i have a musical bubble blowing thomas tank and pjs thinking maybe a lazytown pop up tent and a kitchen? dose anyone know where i could get a cheapish kids sweeping brush? he'd love that and would make life easier for me not having him clinging on the bottom of mine,
For everyone else i hav'nt even started mum and dad are getting hampers when i have cash start them  no idea about OH and the rest.
I'm lucky i dont have many to buy for just my boys, neice, my parents, OH parents, friends daughter and a great aunt. i agreed last year with my brothers and inlaws we would just buy for the kids as we're all in the same boat money wise, but its a shame for my youngest brother he dosn't even have any kids bless him, i think i'll have to get him a little something.;)

1 gift for DD from "Santa", 2 DVDs (thinking of Asdas offer of 2 for £15 ATM just need to decide which ones;) ) and then a voucher for her promising to take her shopping in the sales at the Trafford Center :D Haven't got a clue what to get OH, but most things regarding Xmas I can leave as we'll be at OH's parents and they tend to do everything. I will need to check though at the beginning of December that they're still doing things as I'm doing a favour for a friend from 10th - 20something of December which means I'll be unable to do much from about 2.30 onwards  I don't mind though - I love babysitting :D:D

I'm looking for the playmobil or lego advent calendar, does anyone know if I can get them cheap ish anywhere?
