When did they send the original cheque? Have you still got it or have the firm got it?
    What firm is it?

    Help

I have received a letter today to an old address (current occupant knows where I live and put the letter through the door) stating I am due money following a review of a complaint I made in 2006!

Also they state they have paid interest of 8% for any amount my account would have been in credit, shouldnt I also get interest based on the fact I should have got this money in 2006??

Before I send anything off I just want clarification that Canada Square Operations is legit and im not gonna be providing my details to a load o debt collection companies I want rid of.

Why not? I could understand if I had just made the complaint but they said they should have paid me in 2006.

Sorry, i missed that bit. You still only get 8% simple interest though, but it will be paid up until the present day.

Ok here is the letter, should I ask for more interest?
When your complaint was closed on 25 October 2006, you were issued a rejection letter. following our review, you are now due a refund. We will be refunding you all premiums charged to you account, with associated interest In addition, interest at the rate of 8% has also been calculated on any amount(s) where your balance would have been in credit had the CRP premium(s) not been charged to your account.

Your new calculation comprises the following elements:

    CRP Premiums Paid £137.79
Refund of interest on premiums paid at contractual interest rate £13.63
Interest at the rate of 8%, as detailed above £65.61

    Total Refund Due £217.03

They might have stiffed you a tenner on the interest, but they might not have. Looks about right.

Don't forget, you may have to pay tax on the interest :)

Hi, just a bit of positive news for all of you waiting for your cheques! I sent my acceptance letter back 19th March (Recorded Delivery), had a letter last week to say they had received acceptance letter and will issue cheque within 20 days,, Cheque arrived today!! :) So hang in and if you are sending anything to Canada Square then I would recommend sending everything recorded delivery (as my first letter sent in their prepay envelope never arrived!) Good Luck

I got a letter from Canada Square Operations saying I am due money back. I returned the signed form and have not heard nothing yet ( 2 weeks ago )

I now have a PPI company asking for 25% of my refund, which I have yet to recieve...where did they come from, as....

    1. I have not used a PPI company, as I emailed egg directly way back in Dec 2009 and was told Im not due anything and the decision is final
    2. The PPI company are writing to my old address!
    3. It proves I went directly with egg as the letter from Canada Square Operations came to my new address, as I updated online

Im currently working offshore and my wife has opened the letter at home. I was wondering where I stand on this? Any advice would be much appreciated...seems there's always someone wanting a bite at the cherry.
