I received my offer letter on 28th Jan (letter was dated 15th) and on Friday 8th Feb I received confirmation that they had received my acceptance and that it would be 20 working days. Am hopeful of quick turnaround, but realistically it will be end of the month at the soonest
2. No. The offer stated is the offer you will get.
Having read the rest of this thread, there was a post from MSE Article as follows:My bank agreed to refund PPI but I'm still waiting, can I speed things up?
Sadly this is a common, frustrating problem. Banks say it should be within 28 days, but it could be 8-12 weeks. You'll get interest on the payout up to the date it's issued though, so that's a minor consolation. If the delay's unreasonable, there's nothing to stop you contacting it to say you aren't happy, and asking for extra compensation for distress and inconvenience.0 -
Ok thats the acknowledgement of my offer acceptance received back dated 15th February so the post office had it signed for on the 13th and they have turned that around pretty quick. I will wait and see on the 20 day promise and let you guys know.
All pretty smooth so far.0 -

I think the receipt of acceptance and issuing of confirmation letters seems to be pretty quick. It's the next stage that they appear to be dragging their feet on0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for the posts with the the number to ring, think Canada Square are getting bored with my calls now!
Acceptance letter sent back on 12th Decemeber, letter received stating 20 working days, no cheque, called 29th January told to ring back Friday (1st Feb) rang back on 1st and told it will take 2 working days to find out where cheques is, phone back on 5th Feb and told cheque has been cancelled, no reason given, receive 2nd letter dated 5th to say "due to unforseen complications" will now be another 20 working days.
Still waiting for cheque, so rang back today explained how my concern is that it still wont arrive in 20 days and will be in same situation, am told that an email will be sent saying that it should be sent out urgently, which is quite surprising as in my previous 6 phone calls nobody has ever mentioned that they can do this, I asked by "urgent" how long do you mean and was told 48hours!! Finally a result???
Phone call 1 minute later to say that as it was already re-ordered on the 5th they have to wait till then to send the email! When asked why they didn't send the email to say it was urgent after the first cancelled cheque was told that the policy is it has to be cancelled twice before they can say its urgent??
So from my experience expect to wait at least 3 months before you see any money and make sure you keep ringing them!!

When do you expect to receive your cheque? Did they give you a likely date?0 -
Well they have told me to ring back on the 5th of March, which will be 20 (working) days from 2nd letter, if I haven't received it and then they will be able to send the email to say it is urgent, although the person I spoke to said that the email can still not guarantee it will get sent in 48 hours! Apparently the cheque people are in a different building? not sure why that makes a difference?
Also forgot to add in last post, I also sent an email to Simon Cooper (simon2.cooper@cti.com) on the 5th Feb which I had a response saying he was on leave and to send to Emma Wavell (emma.wavell@citi.com) which I have had no response to, so frustrating but just a waiting game, the people at the end of the phone are very nice but seem not to the authority to do anything other than put notes on your account.
I've heard others on here say interest should be calculated to date when you receive, is this only applicable to loans that are still current as my loan has been paid off already (2006)?0 -
Well it doesn't exactly bode well however they have until the 15th March by their own admission to send my cheque out so we shall just have to wait and see what happens.
As I said before everything has been reasonably smooth so far so fingers crossed they dont start playing silly b&%*ers with things now.
I suppose only time will tell.0 -
@Boonmeister
Hopefully my example is the exception rather than the norm
