EGG - PPI Claim upheld but still no cheque!

UPDATE: I emailed Ian Clark yesterday, got a reply this afternoon advising they received my acceptance letter and sent me a letter yesterday confirming receipt. Apparently the cheque will be issued 20 working days from the receipt of my acceptance.
So, seems like it takes them a week to get round to opening the letters (or at least replying) so working on the assumption that I'll get my cheque sometime at the end of the month or early March.
Annoying, but exciting that it's definitely happening:)0 -
I called them yesterday and was informed that they had received my acceptance form and attached it to my account on 6th February and a letter had been put in the post. Received the letter this morning, so up to 20 working days to wait.
Based on this expect to receive cheque in early March.0 -
I have just received my acceptance form for PPI on an egg loan ans susbsequent topups from 2003-2004 to 2009 and am posting it back today. I only sent the FoS questionnaire off a fortnight ago with all the details and received both my acknowledgement of that form and my offer of £6320 in two separate letters this morning. Delighted with the speed they have dealt with it to be honest.
It comes with a second class prepaid envelope but I was planning on posting it registered just so I know that they have it.
Having read through everyones posts on here am I right in thinking that it is probably going to be about a two to three weeks till I receive an acknowledgement they have received it and then a further four weeks or so until I receive the actual cheque?
I am happy with the settlement however I assume they do not include the additional 8% and interest on this interim period when they post the final cheque out?0 -
I posted off my acceptance form along with proof of my address on 2nd Feb. I rang them on 6th Feb to see if they had received it, they hadn't. Called again on the 8th and they had. I was informed that my cheque was being ordered and I should get it within 20 working days. I await with baited breath...Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
Overpayments to date £410
Current mortgage balance £70,6500 -

1. Generally it appears to be taking around 4-6 weeks from offer letter. I received my offer letter on 28th Jan (letter was dated 15th) and on Friday 8th Feb I received confirmation that they had received my acceptance and that it would be 20 working days. Am hopeful of quick turnaround, but realistically it will be end of the month at the soonest
2. No. The offer stated is the offer you will get.0 -
Thanks a lot. That is kind of what I thought. Delighted to get this back anyway however I just wondered how badly they might drag their feet on this. When I hear anything else I'll let everyone know on here.

Update: Egg being real pains in the !!!! now. My wife's account was in her maiden name and they advised we needed a certified copy of the wedding certificate to proceed with cheque in her married name. I got this certified at the Post Office using their official service. 2 weeks later I get a letter from Egg saying they won't accept this and it has to be certified by a solicitor, lawyer or notary public.
Bunch of cowboys - using any reason they can to avoid paying out:mad:0 -
I have to agree they are certainly dragging their feet here. Pity taking it to FOS would likely take a year or more.TopCat1976 wrote: »I got this certified at the Post Office using their official service. 2 weeks later I get a letter from Egg saying they won't accept this and it has to be certified by a solicitor, lawyer or notary public.
I wonder if EGG would stump up for the fee charged by a solicitor for such a "service"? I think not.0 -
Well they have signed to accept my acceptance letter from Royal Mail yesterday (13/02/13) so it will be interesting to see how long it takes them to acknowledge it. Hopefully not too long.0
