hi everyone! well i'm back from my hectic weekend at my in-laws, complete with all all 8 nieces & nephews together (9 including my DS), they range from 4-24, its so much fun! They were making horror films on their i'pad, such a good app, it was hilarious!

I managed a NSD yesterday, and did some savvy shopping today. I had a £4 off £25 in Sainburys, and then I doubled up my vouchers in Tescos so got £40 for toys, £20 for clothes, I had a £4 off £40, a 34p an 44p price comparison vouchers and 65p off Peparami minis, so a £69 shop cost me about £4!!

I also got some Tesco vouchers in the post today, including a 'sealed envelope' which I had to take over to Tescos for them to open, suprisingly I didnt win the 42" tv, but lo and behold a £5 off a £40 spend for next week, huff!!

I paid two lots off my credit card, a £6ish paypal payment and a whopping £270ish fromthe wages from my second job so I was very pleased with being so disciplined, the only way I can do it is pay it off as soon as it hits my a/c each month.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok, loving reading this thread!

PS Kat, what do you think of the Walking Dead? We love it!! i will watch Friday's episode tonight when DH gets home from work x

@happy: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4150091 This is where I know anything at all to do with SB from. It just takes a bit of getting used to.

I HATE EE! Since the switch over, my signal has been shocking and just now someone was calling me about a job I really want (not telling you what it is because you'll all hate me) and it just died while my signal is supposedly 3 bars! T_T

Well done annie for doing so well!:T
  • Thanks killer peaty, i will have a look :) x

  • Hi all
    Hope everyone is well.
Ninja saving Kat - No dont think it would be sad to take your jar to the counter at all, but it would be funny to see the cashiers face when you emptied on the counter for them to sort. Or what about going to the self serve till in a supermarket to pay for something. Im going to do that! Well done on the ebay front, you did better than me, i only sold books for 99p each last night.:o. And,Im also getting fed up with people watching and not bidding on items.

Well done Siouxsie32 for making your payment.

Miss LadyAnnie, you did marvellously :T
Killerpeaty Great news on the SBs :j

You're most welcome Happy, but err what I said before was supposed to read a bit more happy and helpful than I think it does. Sorry about that.

@rosie: Congrats on the good week last week! This week will also be good for you! Promise! x

I need to figure out how to make the most of my vouchers.. I only have £4 worth of clubcard vouchers though..

I think you need a minimum of £5 to double up in store, unless you save them for next time round with whatever vouchers you get in Feb? x

  • More importantly... in April next year I will be 30 years old! I NEED to celebrate this properly by getting away and out of London and on a wee holiday. I am restricted in how much time I can have off in April unless I wait and go in May.

I had a horrific 29th whereby friends who should have known me better arranged something contrary to my wishes and bough me tat instead of 1 good gift..

Now this sounds ungrateful doesn't it - but you would think your birthday is at least one day where you can assume its all about you - well at least for a couple of hours.... but low and behold my friends made it about them... the gifts were "joke" presents whereas a £10 voucher from Boots would have been more useful..( to this day not one thing they bought me has been used )...

SO... I need, for my own sanity to get away. For 4-5 nights, to a Spa hotel, somewhere hot and somewhere cheap! Simples. I need to start planning now in order to make sufficient money for it...

I intended to do it this year for my 29th but said above mentioned friend thought otherwise, decided not to tell me she made other plans and so I didn't go anywhere... last holiday was a friends wedding in June to Zante in 2011..

So I need your thinking caps.. I am not adverse to staying in the UK but elsewhere might be cheaper and a lot warmer... I might even travel with hand luggage ( done before on a 4 days trip to Croatia ) and settle in a grubby hotel..

    Hmmmmm what to do..........

  • Kat - my birthday & my littlies birthday are both in April too :) all the best people are born in April ;)

What do you mean restricted by how much time you can have off? Can you book time over your birthday or is it booked up? Personally, if I was trying to avoid friends etc, I would be away over my birthday. I deliberately came back home to Kent from Nottingham for my last birthday as I didn't want the drama, especially with it coming 2.5 weeks post labour!
I'd go for somewhere abroad, though watch out, hand luggage is being charged for now if you book a flight! How about the south of france? Easy to get to, wine, warmer climate... and pretty cheap!

Killer - I really hope they called you back and you got the job!! Who cares what it is - I won't hate you! ;)

Siouxsie - thank you very much. It makes me giggle too. I've had it waiting on my computer for a suitable forum for a long while!! ;)

Today I worked, but only 4.5 hours as my stupid network card is broken in my work PC and so I only managed to get offline work done. I get to go back and complete another 4 hours or so Friday once the engineer has fixed it! On the plus side, I was paid £96 cash for my 4.5 hours plus another few hours from another day. Win!!! £20 back into my bank account to pay for a coffee date with my hubby (second date since having Ellie!) & a 'fake-away' from the supermarket (naughty, naughty...) & the rest to go off the card!

Also, £20 cashback confirmed from referring mum & next door neighbour to topcashback. Woop!
