  • Good Morning EVERYBODY!!

I am getting super excited about all these TopCashBack websites. I want to sit and read everything on Bzzagent / Toluna / Valued Opinions / Panel Net etc.... I just don't seem to ever have the time to sit and read them all , click on things... answer things etc.. maybe I should concentrate one day on one site and go from there...?

The email that came out today from:money: has a brilliant list of things regarding claiming £1000's back on shopping etc... I flicked to another thread briefly and am SO annoyed by the little things that SMs do to get money from us because we don't think... something about Kettle Crisps @ £3.50 for two bearing in mind they are only £1.50 each normally... GRRRR!!!

So I shall be scouring websites today instead of going out for a walk prior to my weekly Wednesday meeting.. although I am in all weekend and have a night shift to play with so don't want to miss "cashing in" on Quidco by hitting different shops in the GREAT city of Westminster. But that makes me tired and hungry... Hmmm decisions decisions...

So.. if all goes well this NOvember..( I have £100 left of my £140 budget which included £80 for groceries ) I think I might be able to make it to the end of the month. I have hit two OT shifts at work and been able to keep my grocery spend to £23.10 although this included a VOSS bottle of water ( £1.35 ) as I will be using the bottle at work everyday and the plastic ones get manky quite quickly and need to be replaced... plus a nice glass one costs about £9.99 on Amazon. I am not above drinking out of a jar but one can't do this in my office.. and as I walk around town I can't risk having people thinking I am homeless and throwing money at me.... ohh hang on a minute that might be a better idea..:rotfl:

I need to get a rucksack so hoping somehow to get it through one of these sites.. I have found one that's more than sufficient for hiking and biking @ £100 which Mumsy says she will pay however this is cheating in my eyes and I want to make free money elsewhere...

I am scheming and plotting as we speak.... With next months wage I think I might be able to throw an extra £350 at the bike loan on top of what they already take ( £133.23 ).. which is ok but not enough by my standards. This is on top of the last payment to my overdraft of £350 AND another £297.14 that goes to my land loan. That's £1130.37.

However getting home for Christmas is going to cost me £190 at least.. that without luggage which I might have to do. That's annoying...
I might hold off on getting this rucksack but will need to sit down with some time and work things out.

I still have £200 tucked away with nothing to do as I transferred it out by mistake to another account.... with £859.83 that I have to physically throw at my debt each month ( to clear by the end of December ) I think this is where it should go. I have paid £127 towards it so far this month but as I earn OT it won't be paid until the month after so I don't count it really.. maybe I should......:D

So I shall update my sig.. wish you a merry day, promise to check in later tonight and have a wee think about what else I can do bar sell myself on a street corner...

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

  • Right .. I have tidied up my sig.. I am not counting the overtime money towards the challenge of getting money paid back by the end of December. Unless I have physically transferred the money I am not counting it.. I am also starting to confuse myself and will wait now until the end of the month to transfer money from Paypal to my bank account.. maybe...;-)

Hey, thanks for all the congrats. I went in to speak to them again today, they've decided to take on 2 people not 1 which means that the salary is 1.5k less! But but but...It's still decent money for a first job and I would still be the main earner, plus after 6 months I will be reviewed for a wage increase. Now to make up a budget, some aims and see how much the season ticket will be.

But today has taken on a really sour turn : ( The recent ex got in contact for the first time since and it caught me off guard.

@rosie: that really sucks. : ( But well done for paying off more of your CC!

Is Quidco good to be part of?
  • Hi killer, sorry on the 1.5k loss but yay to 6 month review :)... Sorry the ex caught you off guard them moments are the worst ((hugs)). quidco is a great cash back site im waiting for 160 cash back next year it takes a few months to validate and then they pay it to you :D so thats good. Hope everyone is having good day xx

£160! That's amazing! But I guess you actually have to buy things to get it.. ha ha..
  • Quidco is a great website, i've 'made' £927 over the past few years! I've not done very well on there for quite a while though, although i'm hoping to get £25 for my car insurance :-)

  • Killer, Quidco is the site I used pre topcashback & I made good money out of it, but they charge you £5 of your cashback per year. Topcashback seems to pay more for no fee but I think there are different companies on quidco. If you have a smart phone, you need to download the quidco app just for walking around town. There are loads of places you can 'check in' to. Tesco.. lloyds pharmacy, boots, comet (not for longgg) sainsburys, asda, new look, etc etc etc etc. I walk past, checking in as I go ;) You can do it every 4 weeks and it all adds up, plus they don't charge you for doing it & it is instant cash :D

Really glad about the job - even with the 1.5k drop. You will be able to show them you're worth the salary increase, no problem!! As for the ex, sorry about that, it's got to hurt. Think on it as the first step to healing... now you will never have to go through that 'first time' contact again and can move on knowing the worst bit is out of the way. Hugs though!

Kat, your sig is looking amazing!! :D

After a few NSD's I seem to have gone off track. Yesterday spent £63 in Sainsburys buying a kettle (reduced by £10 to £26) and some snacks for the OH, plus his 'must-have' Black Ops II game for the PS3 which we pre-ordered... The £30 spend on other stuff in there meant I got it £10 cheaper than anywhere else, & my kettle is broken.. but I still feel super guilty. I THEN went into Asda and bought asda pizza's after a rubbish day, along with frozen onion rings, breaded mushrooms, and a PICTURE FRAME so another £17 gone... ON TOP of the £61 Ocado shopping that was delivered this morning but ordered Monday. The only plus is that I used mysupermarket.co.uk to do the Ocado shop, effectively saving myself over £30 on what I would have spent & then had a £20 voucher to top it off. So £111+ of shopping for £61 Off to do my spreadsheet & beat myself over the head with a picture frame.

    Keep saving guys! xx
