  • I wouldn't get a mac at all. But I don't do anything with graphic design or anything requiring specialist anythings. As one of only possibly 3 people in the world who appears to have grown up with Macs, I hate the damn things. People get really steamed up about them, but they do the same stuff as a PC ( which is easier to use but I haven't used any mac for the last 5 years so it's an old comparison) in the world's most complicated way! Then you click something, the thing crashes and dad yells at you again! Also it's a fallacy about the old rumour that they can't get viruses in case anyone is wondering.
Dad was a Mac specialist. ha ha :o

He also has/had/still stores in this damn house somewhere between 8-20 laptops and probably about 20 more desk tops. Our house is so full of stuff.

    SELL ALL THE THINGS!

Oooh have fun with geordie boy!

I'm sorry Annie for your bad day <3

Mmm... referral links... /will work this out.
  • We watched Cockney's v's zombies last week, easy watching but hammy acting!! I enjoyed it though!

Thanks for the tip off re free listing weekend, i'll relist all my items this weekend and see what else I can find, including the books that Amazon wouldnt take!

My DH has now got into the money saving frame of mind, its all he talks about now, he is getting so much overtime at work, £17ph so a better return than my second job and is wanting to save as much as he can now - its probably better that we use the money towards the 0% cards but at least he's heading in the right direction!

It's great that you can work as a team on this : ) If one of you has an off day then the other can give the good old kick up the bum! But if your debts are all 0% at the moment, you can put these savings into a savings account (highest interest rate you can find) and then just before the end of 0% then use it and your interest to pay off as much as you can. But it takes organisation from what I hear.

Well done Kat! That's an amazing amount of money in such a short amount of time.

Had a lazy lazy day today, so far I've completed one survey (£3 though) and done no housework...

Thats a really good idea! He is so into paying everything into the savings at the moment and its all he talks about day and night, i've just had another email from him 'how much can you pay into the savings a/c this month' lol! Never thought i'd see the day! He is usually head in the sand :rotfl:

This is the link to the stoozing guide http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/stooze-cash-credit-cards which is essentially what you'd be doing but from what I have read, it can be dangerous in terms of losing control. But I have a few online tools to motivate saving if you want to have a look.

    RAGE
    RRRRAAAAAGGGGGEEEEE!
Finally got a paid pinecone survey and it won't work.

    Hope you're all enjoying st pudsey's day. : P
  • Is stoozing not doing it multiple times for the sake of earning profit, where as "tarting" is the swapping of debts onto 0% interest cards?

Either way.. stoozing is not a good idea for someone already in debt. you need your head switched on and you need to be vigilant about dates... miss one of these and you will be getting yourself into further problems than the debt you are already in...

But I can see the benefits of saving it first then transferring it over however whatever you earn in interest will be minuscule unless you have a 12 months term on it which is hard to get hold of..

I think paying it all back straight away will be a whole lot more satisfying BUT things need to be balanced.. MissLadyAnnie has an OH who has COMPLETELY changed his outlook on his money managment.. this is an excellent achievement.. I just don't want him to burn out in a few weeks.. so Miss Annie keep giving him compliments about how sexy he is when he is determined / saving money / cooking scraps etc...:T:T:T

Killer thank you for those links.. fingers crossed for some money although you have really made me think about Apple at all... I might stick with good old windows because of discounts I can get... but I need to stay on track. Debt first / laptop second!

Right I have made the most amazingly delicious quesadillas every.. I am going to post this on NOvember as well.. I made broad bean humus.. basically mushed broad beans with juice from half a lemon, lots of dried dill and even more pepper with a little salt..whizzed together with a little greek yoghurt...

Spread the past on a tortilla with grated cheese and sliced tomatoes, whack another tortilla on top and fry in a little oil until crispy... I just had two and feel a little sick!

    Completly worth it!!!...

Onwards and Upwards...( might be Hunger Games tonight instead of Zombie gore before bed )...:rotfl:

  • Hahaha!!! What amazing reading this has been today. Food sounds good Kat. We were going to have celebratory fish & chips but both decided to save it for another day & we are having cheese toasties instead!! Lol.

Kat, I cannot believe you have found £1000 to pay off. I am so impressed! *fluffs your flat motorbike hair* Well done!!! Good thinking on the Jan Sales for the rucksack! But do remember that these are starting earlier & earlier and it is black friday on Amazon all next weeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the news about Tel Aviv & thought of you! :( Marrakesh is sounding good though, but please do not marry & bring home a pretty boy... Speaking of which, Geordie needs kicking into touch if he doesn't turn up this time. Valuable survey time wasted!!!

Annie - my DH is also totally into this saving kick, although he is happy to transfer any and all excess money he has across to pay off the MBNA card at the end of this month. I keep having to tell him to calm it so that we can pay for Christmas! On the SUPER PLUS side... he got peed off with his new FIFA game & decided to sell some online cards for said game (which he earnt in game) on eBay... the first one (Wayne Rooney anyone?) just sold for a whopping £26!! Yes, really, a totally useless - to me anyway- piece of untouchable computer graphics just sold for that. And the money came in about 30 seconds after the auction ended. There were 26 watchers, 218 views... and half a dozen last minute bids!

Killer - You survey demon. Sorry about Pinecone, that sucks!! I'm trying to get surveys done but I just can't seem to get motivated on it. Maximiles is ok though, earning piece by piece and heading towards my £10 asda voucher target without spending!!

I did yet more overtime today - came home with £40 in my pocket, £71.11 cashback confirmed to be paid in the next month or so AND I have volunteered for more days next month to cover a guy who is leaving :D

Paid £1.99 for an AMAZING iPhone app called 'Account Tracker' by a Graham Haley. Best money I've spent in years. Incredibly easy to manipulate, it literally allows me to track everything on my phone as I move around. Coffee in starbucks? Type it into my app & watch my balance drop... Overtime? Add it to my cash on hand balance as I walk home... I am truly in love.

Keep me chuckling folks and happy money saving! x

  • It could well be that, just the idea that Annie's OH want to save rather than pay off at the moment sparked the memory of stoozing. It might give enough time to convince him to put the money towards the debt.

Don't rethink apple just because of me! I associate the brand with my dad and you know about 5 years have passed since I used one.

Enjoy your food! nom nom nom. <3
