Ok, i have a dilemma. Tomorrow is the Boots 1200 vouchers offer. I will have to travel 25 miles to take advantage of it. I have worked out if I buy 7 cartons of baby milk that will take me up to £52 so I will get 1720 in advantage points, plus i also have additional vouchers which I am not sure I can use but it might take my total up to and past 2100 advantage points, which is £21.00 to spend in store. Now we get through alot of baby milk, it never gets any cheaper, but it means I will have to spend £52 on it, but will have at least £17 to spend in Boots in future. Is this a good deal or false economy? I get so confused.0

If you have the money to do so, do it. I spent £50 last month & got 1000 points plus the rest. Bought some baby stuff & christmas/birthday presents. Getting baby stuff is a great idea as 10 points per £1 as well.

I am not above drinking out of a jar but one can't do this in my office.. and as I walk around town I can't risk having people thinking I am homeless and throwing money at me.... ohh hang on a minute that might be a better idea..:rotfl:
Some trendy coctail bars now serve drinks in jam jars! (including screwing a lid on and shaking to mix!) I think you should embrace the jar!!!0 -
Just popped on to say, I love the thread and despite thinking myself pretty savvy you guys have inspired me. i got off my lazy a** and listed stuff on fleabay - I made £58.00 this week and have listed another £93 last night. It was all sat in boxes next to me in my office since we cleared the loft recently.
I also remembered to sell my old phone which in February year was only worth 37p, I now find its worth £11, and put my phone back on DD after a glitch earlier this year and saved myself £4 a month.
Thank you all and keep on going Kat, Im looking forward to seeing you achieve your goal :TClearing the junk to travel light

Well kittens I am shattered.. I wanna tell you about my day of walking around Covent Garden with free soup - checking into stores and earning £1.15 on Quidco... I am aware however this is a little dull!..
Lilly if you have the money do it.. count in how much petrol will cost you there and back though.. I might get some foundation while the offer is on as I have already budgeted for it.. but then I am being ruthless and don't want to.. but I need to hide my skin....argghhhhh!
Killer ...I know what its like seeing / speaking to the ex..WEIRD alert!! And that job sounds like you are on the up... don't let the ex pull you down..

Wow Kat, you're always so busy! You put me to shame!
Lilt:Thanks for telling me more about quidco, I just joined but then the site crashed so it's back on my to-do list. ^^ I popped into "work" today to give my signed contract in, then got brought into a conversation about where my desk is going to be.. Ha ha. But remember, you're having a good run of looking after your money, don't let one off day is not too bad! Don't be too hard on yourself!
Hi ginny!
@bunny: When you travel to boots, will it be the only thing on your stop? If you use the journey for multiple purposes (banking, shopping, etc) then surely it becomes more economical?
I just applied for the Halifax reward account under "employed", feeling well cheeky. :rotfl: 11 days until I start!0 -
Hi everyone, are you all well? Hope so...yes, I've been swept along with the whole NOvember thing as well. I must admit, things are so much easier when you have a like minded army along side you. We're already at the halfway point and I could probably carry it on a bit longer (I mean longer than the end of November, not longer than today!) - although January's my killer month: 6 weeks between paydays and lots of out of the ordinary spends over the festive season, not to mention a trip to NI to visit family make it a long month. But yeah, get planning kat, I'm sure I'll jump onboard
Nice choice of bank account killer, is there still the £100 sign up bonus? And you get £5 every month as well with that accountWoo hoo for being employed :j
Bunny, if you have a smartphone and go to Boots, make sure you use the Quidco app and check in at all the stores around the area.
I use Quidco all the time and have collected around £500 in the last few years. Mostly from travel arrangements I have to make, but also from any ebay purchases and any gifts or other things I have to buy. I used to use Topcashback but havent for a few years and when I tried to log on it said I wasn't registered. Is there still a referral programme? Does anyone want to refer me and I'll sign up again?
Other than that, I don't have much to report - still not spending, still working on ways to make more money and still chipping away at those pesky debts0 -
There is still the £100 bonus but I won't qualify because I'm not shutting my other account, nor am I switching my (one) DD to it. My new account (assuming that I'm going to get it) will get my salary, my old account will get all my bills paid from it, with the money being transferred obviously. I also need to open an ISA (cash not cash 'n' shares) to transfer my savings into, but I'm doing that research at the moment.
But I need to see whether I can get a cash back CC as well.. So much to organise!
Well done with doing so well on NOvember! Jan sounds really expensive for you  But you will get through it! Take it as a challenge? :beer:0
