You'll find that everything I've posted about this card is fact - so feel free to accept it or not. I post objectively and free of bias. It's your choice if you want to bend over for a bum deal.
Hmm funny I literally never have any trouble getting my Amex accepted - it's 2012 - those days are very long gone, trust me.
I would love to bend over for a bum deal. Are you offering?Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
I've just looked through my existing account with Barclaycard for the past year (was Egg Money card) - conveniently you can order your purchases by value on the website when viewing the statement.
I've spent £10.5K, on which I have earned £105 cashback with no fee to pay (existing card pays 1%), with this new card if I ignore the initial 6% rate, I would have earned £147.95 after the fee. So this is a good deal - my initial reaction was it was so complicated it couldn't possibly work out well.
There is one month where I made less than 15 transactions - if making a big purchase, it'd be easy to make a few small purchases to bump up the count if required.
I have an unused account which I'll probably transfer - I may soon be getting an annual train season card at £930 - so if I open this account in time for that purchase, I'll get the annual booster rate each year in time for when I renew.0 -

From what I have read so far, am I right to say if I transfer my current card to this cashback card, my BT 0% till Nov 2014 will continue and my credit will not be checked as it will only be an internal scoring?0

If you had used your existing Barclaycard in conjunction with an Aqua Reward card you could have earned £171.66 cashback.

Fair point. Personally I hadn't moved to that card as I didn't like the idea of having a "credit repair" card on my record, nor the low credit limit or the low limit on allowed cashback. I do use the various insurances that come with my existing card too (price promise, extended warranty, missed event cover, purchase protection and travel accident insurance) - all which I guess won't be available on this new card. Decisions decisions.0 -

Hi all,
Thanks for your additional queries.

Sorry, our postyesterday wasn’t fully correct on point 2. To clarify, during the first threemonths welcome period you will also continue to earn 0.5% cash back onremaining purchases. After the welcome period we don’t have a cap on the 2% cashbackon your top five purchases each month. We do have a fair usage policy on theamount of annual spend for which we would award Cashback. From research andanalysis undertaken on our existing customer base, we’ve set this limit well beyond thespend patterns we’ve anticipated. This fair usage policy is set at £75k ofannual spend. In addition Cashback card customers will receive tailored hintsand tips by email and SMS to help them maximize the Cashback they earn.

Yes that’s right. If you transfer an existing Barclaycard accountto the Cashback card, BT rates already in place on balances will move across onexisting terms. You’re also correct as this isn’t a new application, we’llundertake a review internally without searching your credit file.
Thanks

I thought Barclaycard had done away with price promise and extended warranty several years ago?

Terms and conditions say both are on this card. Don't know if they got rid of it but if they did it seems its back now.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670
