Hi again Richard,
Having not heard anything since I applied to transfer (and having had a statement on my existing account in the meantime) I sent a message via the website to ask what was happening, and I received this reply:
====================
Dear Mr XXX
Thanks for your message.
I regret to inform you that it is currently not possible to complete a Product to Product Transfer as we currently do not offer the facility to change your product at this time.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience you have been caused.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Kind Regards,
==============================
What could the cause of this be? Is it a polite way of say "!!!!!! off we don't want your custom" or has someone made a mistake in thinking that this transfer isn't possible?
Thanks again0 -

I wish I had never upgraded, its been so much of a hassel, I can't view charges I had on my old card, so I can't even pay them off0

Thanks Brendan. I'm away from home at present, but I'll try giving them a call when I get back at the weekend.0

Out of interest has anyone got any transactions that were made after the account transfer on the old card, not showing up as a charge on the new one?0
-
I have just emailed Barclaycard using the online messaging service to confirm this and I got the following answer from the customer service. It begs the question of which answer will prevail?
"Upon checking our records, I would like to inform you that your account is not eligible for the product transfer to a Freedom Rewards Mastercard account at present.
As with the majority of standard account processes, eligibility checks are required to ensure we are treating customers fairly and that the new product is suitable for their needs."
I don't think that people who currently hold the Goldfish Barclaycard will receive the £30 worth of bonus points on offer to other customers who transfer to Freedom Rewards card
These customers are already being transferred to the Freedom Rewards card and the information provided to affected customers does not mention these bonus points
In this scenario everyone with a Goldfish Barclaycard would be falling over themselves to instigate a transfer to the Freedom Rewards card in order to receive the points which are not available to those who wait for the planned migration
I suspect that is the reason that transfer requests are being declined and the Barclaycard Rep has avoided mentioning the bonus points in his replies
I suspect that you will get the card but without the bonus pointsHi Piotrf,
We can assure you that all Goldfish customers are automatically being transferred to the new Freedom Rewards Card on 30th October 2012.
A notice of variation informing you of the change will have been sent to you after 27th September and this should arrive with you soon.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Can Barclaycard Initials be transferred to the new cards?0
-
Just out of interest has anyone else received a letter saying they have to sign a modified agreement and post it back?
This transfer seems to be taking an awful long time.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
Hi
reclusive46: We're sorry to hear that. If you need a copy of your old statement or want a balance you can contact our Customer Services team 24hrs a day on 0844 811 9111.
pmhtuk: Yes Barclaycard Initial can be reviewed for a transfer. You can request this on our website or contact our Customer Services team on the above number.
lawstudent: In some cases we'll need to modify your initial agreement with Barclaycard as the terms and conditions on the new products may be different to your previous card. In those instances, we need to send a new agreement for you to sign and return to us. Once updated we'll then look to complete the transfer after your next statement date.
Thanks
