Cashback Barclaycards!!!

I'm confused reading all this - I'd like to transfer my existing Platinum Visa Barclaycard. Its statement date is 5th of the month, and I'd like my 4% anniversary to apply for 5th Dec to 4th Jan each year (I too need to buy an annual season ticket). So do I transfer now before my 5th Nov statement, or after?0

Hi All
We’ve had some specific/detailed queries raised in relation to accounts. We’ll get these checked out and update you further tomorrow.

Hi All
We've noted a number of queries around the dates for cashback credits and anniversary period.
The cashback is calculated at the end of each statement period. You need to spend for 12 full statement periods to earn cashback over the cashback year. You will receive your cashback credit from the 1st year at the start of your 13th statement period. The 2nd annual fee would be charged at the start of statement period 14, this month would also include the anniversary thank you of 4% cashback on your top 5 purchases, providing you make 15 purchases during the month.
An example is shown below:
- Take the card out at start of November 2012
- Spend between November 2012 and October 2013 (cashback year)
- Cashback is paid at the start of November 2013
- The 2nd years annual fee is charged at the start of December 2013 and during this month you receive 4% cash back on the top 5 purchases, if you make 15 purchases in the month.
Thanks

Just a quick question, sorry if this has been answered before, not got time to read through the entire thread.
I'm an ex-Egg Barclaycard customer with the old Egg Money deal (1% cashback on all purchases, no extras, no fees) will I still be able to keep this or will I be moved to this new fee charging deal?
The new deal looks good for heavy users but I don't use my card enough to negate the annual fee.If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
If you do like it please hit the thanks button.0 -
Hi Brendan,
My current statement date for my Platinum Visa card is around the 22nd of the month and I too would like to transfer my account to the Cashback card, with the 4% anniversary rate covering the end of December each year. Assuming everything runs smoothly, please would you confirm when I should apply for the transfer, to ensure that the anniversary month falls in the right place, and will my current statement date change?
Alternatively, if I decide to apply for a new Cashback card (as opposed to transferring my old one), can you also confirm when I would need to apply to make sure late December is covered by my 4% anniversary rate.
Thanks.0 -
If I'm right you will only be able to get the bonus on the Dec period if you sign up in the next few days.
I have asked to transfer my Initial card to a Cashback card - it has been accepted and have been told I will get a new credit agreement to sign. Once returned they will send a card replacement.
I am guessing I will have the card ready for my 18th November statement. This will then mean my annual bonus will be the 18th Dec-17th Jan statement. Too late for Xmas shopping.
If I am correct then this has annoyed me. I am also annoyed about the delay in receiving the new credit agreement to sign.0 -

At the moment I'm on the verge of cancelling my transfer request and just go for the Capital One Aspire Credit Card instead which offers 5% for three months, then take this Barclaycard Cashback next year when its properly understood and we know how it really works. I'd be mighty cheesed off to commit to a card with a fee that applies the 4% bonus rate in a month where I just don't need it.0 -
Hi All
Thanks for your additional comments. We're sorry but we can't provide a specific date in each case as we can't guarantee how long each application or transfer will take. We can only provide comparative dates as shown in our last post to give an indication of when to apply or transfer your account.
Thanks

Can the month be changed later? Or is it fixed? After my Egg card transferred to Barclaycard I was able to get the statement date changed by a few weeks to compensate for the "flexible" nature of the statement date.0

Hi Gordon the Moron
Thanks for your query, you're fine to keep your existing card.
