Oh okay... I dont know whether its a good idea to move product, but I think its better to keep it separate. I am using old Barclaycard only for balance transfer and cashback card for purchases. By doing that it will keep it simple and easy to use without need to worry about separate interest rates for BT and purchases.0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for your queries.
gglaze
Sorry we can’t recommend a specific product here. You cancheck out our website to compare these new cards.
We’ll also be writing to existing Cashback customers soonwith more information on your cards and details on our new card.

Yes that’s right your existing rate would move to the newcard.
SCO
Your rate at the time of the transfer would be applied tothe new card. Just so you know, it’s not possible to switch to our platinumcard just yet, but we’re looking to expand the range of transfer options in thefuture.
Your card number will update but if you’re transferring anaccount we won’t search your CRA as this wouldn’t be a full application.
Any existing funds which are already on a BT rate on yourcard would transfer on the same deal to the new card. However, you won’t beable to use any current offers which haven’t been utilised before the switch.

If it’s a transfer from one of our existing cards, it cantake some time to complete fully as it may need to wait until after yourbilling day. If it’s a new application then we’ll contact you with an outcomeor to request more information as soon as possible. Either way we will be intouch, if you prefer you can call our Customer Services teams 24 hours a daywho can check this for you.

We can look at linking your accounts so that they’re bothvisible within mybarclaycard. To do this just contact our Customer Servicesteam or you can send us a secure message once logged into mybarclaycard.
We’re sorry to hear you didn’t receive the credit limit youwere hoping for. As a responsible lender, we build our relationship by startingwith a manageable limit. Once the account has been in use for 3 months this canbe reviewed again.

1. This exclusion is for products sold or provided byBarclaycard.
2. Just to clarify that cashback is capped at £120 for thefirst three months
3. You can’t move your limits between cards but if youtransfer from one of your cards to the new cards your existing limit willtransfer.
Thanks

Hi all,
Just to clarify that cashback is capped at £120 for the first three months.
That's very interesting, according to that you will need to make sure you plan your purchases well in the first 3 months guys!
You can get 6% on your 5 biggest purchases for each of the first three months then I presume (terms and conditions here do not state whether the 2% or even 0.5% deals run in the first 3 months =S) if you make 15 purchases you get 2% on everything else (otherwise 0.5%) and the total cashback of all of this is capped at £120 for these three months.
I must say I think the Barclaycard page is a little misleading.
"Earn 2% cashback on your top five monthly purchases and 0.5% on everything else. All you need to do is use your card 15 times each month for the 2% booster to kick in.
Enjoy a 6% welcome bonus on your five biggest monthly purchases. You can earn up to £120 cashback on these during your first three months."
In my mind the "earn up to £120" on these is associated with the 6% deal only. It is after all in a separate paragraph from the other cashback rates. In any event I'm still looking forward to making some money back on my usual spends.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

Lawstudent, although i thought i should ask the question, am most surprised by reply. clearly in the example i gave the 2% is preferable, and therefore i'd have thought took preference. this is definately misleading as it says 2% is without limit . (well 75000)0 -
I think it is still up to 75k after the introductory period but only £120 can ever be built up in the first 3 months if what the rep says is the line Barclaycard is definately taking.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670

good news about the insurance though. all my insurances can be paid by card ie dog insurance, bupa, car , house.
even 2% of all these is quite alot of money.0 -

Yeah definitely. My car insurance is £1200 so that's the annual fee done in one go.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
I don't know if anyone is interested but I have made a spreadsheet that allows you to play around with your monthly spends to maximise your cashback or alternatively just work out based on your current spending patterns what cashback to expect on a monthly and yearly basis.
You can download the spreadsheet here. Don't worry it's not a virus I promise.
Screenshot below if you want to have a look first.
If you want to alter the cashback percentage to represent the introductory rate or anniversary rate go to Tools>Protection>Unprotect Sheet. (I have protected it because there are some complicated formulas most people probably won't want to upset.)Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

All I'm saying is just because it isn't what you're after doesn't mean it's not what anyone else is. We've been through this already and I refuse to repeat myself. No one forces you to post about how it's not right for you, why not just be happy for other people if they've found something that is right for them and go troll for Amex or whoever you're on about elsewhere.
Pal, I think you'll find that this is a public forum and I'm allowed - just as much as you are - to post my thoughts on issues.
You'll find that everything I've posted about this card is fact - so feel free to accept it or not. I post objectively and free of bias. It's your choice if you want to bend over for a bum deal.
Hmm funny I literally never have any trouble getting my Amex accepted - it's 2012 - those days are very long gone, trust me.0
