Cashback Barclaycards!!!
Comments
-
Hi all,
reclusive46
Your credit limit will remain the same. The interest rate on your account may change if the APR you have currently is lower than that of the new products. Although we cannot guarantee that you can be transferred, we only perform a small amount of internal checks for transferring your account to another product so it is likely that this will be possible.
When I applied your website said "Your credit limit and interest rate will remain the same." What's going on?Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
Hi all,
Thanks for your recent comments about our new cards.
Firstly, we'd like to apologise as we have provided some inaccurate information in 2 previous replies. Please allow us to confirm the correct information.

Non-Sterling transaction will accrue cashback and will also count towards your 15 transactions each month. We apologise for the incorrect information.

You're correct, your interest rate will remain the same. However, please note that if you're on a flexi-rate product (reduced interest rates if you choose to pay off more than 5% or 10% each month) then the APR will no longer be reduced monthly as part of this previous promotion. All regular cards with standard APR will remain the same following transfer.
Please allow us to provide answers to some of the additional questions that have been posted above:

You're able to transfer to a range of our cards now. However, any new customer offers such as balance transfers will not be added to your new card following this transfer.

Yes, any customer transferred onto the new Freedom Rewards card will be eligible to earn the additional 10,500 points.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the extensive amount of info here - all very interesting, but... I'm lost!
Can someone please dumb all this down for me? I'm a relative noob to CB stuff, but very interested, as I spend loads every month and I'm pretty sure I'm missing out.
I currently have 2 Barclaycards:
1. Barclaycard OnePulse (with my Oyster built in)
2. Barclaycard Cashback (this one was previously Morgan Stanley and then Goldfish)
I currently have a lifetime BT on the OnePulse at a decent rate, so haven't really touched that in quite a while.
I am currently using the Cashback for all my purchases, and really have no idea if I'm getting the best deal, but as far as I'm aware this is the only card I have that gives anything back. But I'm not very clear on what benefit I'm really getting - for example on Friday I had a credit for "Reward Money" of £0.64. Presumably this is for one month's spending? Last month I spent well over 1k so I have no idea how this adds up. The rate on this card for any balance I hold is also pretty horrendous.
Although the complex maths of this new Barclaycard doesn't sound ideal, I'm happy to work it out for myself if that's the best thing to do. But what is the general idea here - that I could/should convert my old Barclaycard Cashback card to this new thing? Or that I could/should transfer the OnePulse one? Or either? And with the new card there is a fee, whereas with my existing cards no fee?
Or am I better off sticking with what I have?
If this helps: I do plenty of grocery shopping, but don't drive hence no petrol.
Thanks!0 -
Just to clarify then;
If I change from a Simplicity card do I lose or keep my 7.9% APR?0 -

Credit for reward money is probably from the wind up of Freedom a while ago. Can you find the cashback rate on your old cashback card and then someone might be able to advise you.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

Thanks for your reply richard.
Just to clarify, i would be interested in a transfer to your platinum card.
I dont have a special APR, however asked if it could be reduced years ago (just to get a more competitive APR ) and it was, would this stay the same?
(never heard of your flexi-rate)
I currently have a BT at 0%, this would stay?
This is my oldest card, when transfering does everything stay the same apart from the type of account, i.e. the card number and when the card was taken out when you report to CRA's?
Would previous account info stay the same as well with regards to getting 0% deals when my current one ends?
Thanks again.0 -
How do we know if we have been accepted for the transfer to the new card? I haven't heard anything back.0

On Friday I phoned Barclaycard to change over and was accepted for the cash back card. In the last year I have spent in excess of £18k on my card (not a penny in interest) so I think that this card is a clear winner. Unless I am missing something the cash back will dwarf the £24 annual fee.
I did however notice that the longest interest free period is only 45 days compared to the normal 56 days, not sure how this works. Has anyone else noticed any other catches with this card or is it as good as it seems?Money is a wise mans religion0
