Just out of interest, why? it is just a phone.
Meh, I work hard and my phone and car are my only luxuries really. To be honest I spend half my life replying to emails or on the phone so I like to have an up to date model. Also I'm a bit of an apple fan boy.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
Is it just the cashback cards that we can transfer accounts?
Can we transfer an account to the platinum card with the BT offer for example.
When I checked there was no transfer to the platinum bt card. Probably because they've already got you trapped and that card doesn't give them the annual fee.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

If you spend a lot on fuel would you not be better with a card that rewards fuel purchases santander 123 or the AA for example.0 -

Yeah I looked at one of those but seeing as I can get this card without a credit check and I have a decent limit on this account already the hassle/reward trade off doesn't seem worth it for me. Also apart from the whole you can't change product thing I've never had a problem with Barclays/Barclaycard. That's worth more than a few quid a year to me.
Edit: I don't know why this has an angry face above =S but it won't let me change it now.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
I'm usually a fan of cashback cards but this seems very convoluted. Its almost a good deal if it wasn't for the £24 annual fee and having to use it 15 times a month. Could be worth it if you've got a major purchase planned.
For me my Aqua card (3% on all purchases)/ Halifax card (2% on petrol/groceries)/Capital One (1% on all purchases, with no fee, plus £10 bonus each year) seems like a better combination.0 -

I buy a new iPhone every year for £600. That's half the yearly fee on one purchase at the 2% rate let alone the higher rates.
I spend circa 1k PER WEEK and do all that on a cash back card.
The cash back I get from my card in just one week would easily cover the fee of this card or any cash back card that requires a fee.
But I still would never get one that requies a fee because it is always bad maths - especially one as convoluted as this - not to mention one that almost forces you to spend - even though to be fair 15 transactions is nothing.0 -

Congratulations.
All I'm saying is just because it isn't what you're after doesn't mean it's not what anyone else is. We've been through this already and I refuse to repeat myself. No one forces you to post about how it's not right for you, why not just be happy for other people if they've found something that is right for them and go troll for Amex or whoever you're on about elsewhere.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -

Indeed the Amex cashback card is the only decent annual fee card (As long as you spend more than 10k a year) as it has a simple rate. Barclaycards rate is so convoluted and confusing that no one knows whats going on.0 -

In fairness the Amex isn't a bad deal but I'd rather do the math for the Barclaycard and its rates in my head than have to memorise where my Amex would and would not be accepted. I would find that even more frustrating.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
Hi all,
msallen
Thank you for your comments about our new card. We can confirm that only purchases made in Sterling will accrue cashback. Non Sterling transactions are treated as cash purchases on all of our cards.
We hope that we've been able to answer all of your questions, if you'd like to discuss any of them further, please let us know.
Thanks, Richard.
Thanks for the reply Richard. I understand that overseas transactions will not earn cashback, but can you please confirm whether or not they will count towards the 15 transactions required each month to earn the higher rate of cashback on my eligible transactions.
Thanks
Mark0
