I never got charged the fee at all.
Me neither, though I now wonder if it might suddenly appear on the original anniversary of my account opening ten years ago - which will be around May. (They did keep threatening that the 4% bonus would be then, even though the statement indicates it'll be in Nov/Dec...)

I have been charged the £24 annual fee and not been creditted back yet. Anyone remember when was the offer running for? Want to see if its worth getting in touch with customer service.

If you mean the Quidco offer, from 21 Nov to 18 Dec. More details here, it says the first year fee will be refunded but doesn't say when:

  • Goodness me ! I have just read this thread from start to finish and conclude that Barclay Card make things very difficult for their customers.

In this age of supposed plain English (maybe therein lies the problem, who wrote the T & C ?) what a bad advert this is for the Company.

Come on Barclay Card, get your act together and give us a plain, consice account of T & C resulting in happy customers !

I've just had another statement, still no fee, and on this one I had two large refunds. However, I've earned 2% cashback when I made the purchase, then they've deducted 0.5% cashback for the refunds. It actually means I've earned cashback equivalent to 2.5% of the whole statement balance...

It might be complex, but it works for me!

My thoughts exactly. Tbh I kinda hope it is too complicated for most people to bother with so it doesn't get removed like the aqua reward card. Due to the way my purchases are distributed (several large and many small each month) this card works perfectly for me and I earn more than I would with an Amex.

My statement came through today, and I'm struggling to figure out exactly how my cashback has been applied - I was expecting from my first three statements:

    £2000 at 6% = £120
    £334 at 2% = £6.68
    £612 at .5% = £3.06
    Total = £129.74

    But, I've actually accumulated £134.87.

I've also still not been charged the annual fee. :)

Well at least there's nothing to complain about ..yet!

I got my £120 max in my first month, and managed to spend over £10k in my second (house renovation!)

I was a bit displeased to see that everything fell to 0.5%, I was expecting a bit more in the way of cashback.

I think I'll call them later and quote their own terms (outlined in an above post) at them.

Interestingly, because I'm not getting my top 5 any more, from my second statement I would be better off if there were no 6% promotional rate.

I got capped at £120 (plus a bit for other 0.5% transactions) last month.

This month I got a little over £50, all at 0.5%.

If I'd had the top 5 at 2%, I'd have had an extra £130 odd.

Something's not right here, I'm on the phone to Barclaycard at the moment.
