Does anyone know when the 4% anniversary rate kicks in?
My anniversary date is late November, but it shows my top 5 rate as being 2% still. The T&Cs say it is in the month after my annual statement is produced, I've had neither the annual fee nor last year's cashback on the statement yet, so I'm thinking the 4% rate may be on month 14 rather than month 13 - does anyone have any experience to backup this, or otherwise?
OK, reading them thoroughly with an eye for detail yields the following:
By “Annual Statement” we mean the monthly credit card statement which is sent to you following the end of the relevant Cashback Year.
Last statement date 26 Nov 13
Anniversary date 27 Nov 13
So it looks like I missed it being at the 12 month mark by 1 day (or 2 days if taking "after" in the literal sense) and I will receive double top-5 cashback in my 14 month after opening rather than the expected 13th month. It misses the Christmas spending, but I have far bigger outgoings in January so that suits me just fine.
Has anyone had their annual statement / past cashback / current 4% rate yet? Does this "logic" match with your own experience?0 -
Anniversary month will be month 13 from the start of the card. Yearly fee will be charged on month 14.0

Is that from your understanding, or your actual experience of a 4% rate?
My statement also says "Year to Date cashback = £xxx" ie the cashback has not been paid out and zeroed yet.
I'll give them a call.0 -

See my earlier post here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=63792620&postcount=258. My statement was produced on 11th Dec, and this paid up my cashback earned over the year. I'm now in my 13th month and my top 5 transactions will earn at 4%. There is no indication to confirm the 4%, just what they told me over the phone. I've spent £000's, so it better! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks, have you looked online to see what your current top 5 rate is quoted as being, and when your anniversary date was? Am curious to see if your online account does confirm that you are currently earning 4%.
With me, I think I'm going to earn 4% in month 14, due to a quirk that my November statement was produced before my anniversary date.
On the phone, they guy didn't sound entirely confident, but he eventually said that the 4% rate wouldn't happen until after the (annual) statement in which my previous cashback was credited.
I'm keen to understand the correct timing as I have many £k of purchase to make this statement period or next, my choice!
Have just re-read your post more carefully and noted that you have indeed received your cashback, so this seems consistent with you earning 4% now.
Would be reassured to know that your online banking confirms the 4% top 5 rate too!0 -
There is nothing within the screens that confirms what I'm earning at the moment - it only shows the rate that applied on each of my previous statements.0

Ah you're right - it's in the statements section, and "your current top 5 rate" refers to the rate for that statement - not the current time now!0

received my statement for month 13 and the bonus cashback rate was 4% for the month. hope that clears things up0
