Update. I got a Barclaycard Cashback card in the post this morning, does that mean my Platinum Barclaycard has been upgraded automatically or has the application mentioned above gone through?
When does date for each months purchases start?0 -
I've just read this entire thread from the start! I also got my card yesterday. I am planning a large purchase (£1500-£2000) in the first month and I understand from what I have read that any spending over £2k in the first 3 months will earn 0.5% cashback.
So (after ensuring I have 15 transactions totalling £2000 in the first month) I will be putting the card away until the welcome bonus period has expired, as I have other cashback cards that pay more than 0.5%.
I hope I've understood this correctly and that I don't HAVE to use the card at least 15 times in each of the first three months?!0 -
I thought you might all like to know that after applying to change my current card to a cashback card in September, today I have finally received my new card.

Same here, I applied for mine late September and it was delivered some point last week whilst I was away on holiday. Frustratingly my first month of 6% cashback ends on this Wednesday!0 -
I might also mention I did not get a free Mr B toy... gonna have to cry myself to sleep over that one.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670

I applied to change my Platinum card to a Cashback in October (BY PHONE). I thought that I would give Cashback a try instead of using another award card, which gives points and which I have used for some years, putting most of my buying through.
Two things prompted me to take this action:-
Waivers of the first year fee for applying by a deadline.?
(or did I misunderstand)
Christmas and a new computer purchase coming up.
I was told my application had immediate approval and the paper work would be sent to me. I got the paper work on 5th December and no mention of fee waiver.
On ringing customer services I was basically told I did not qualify for the waiver. The reason was confusing, but the final outcome appeared that I already had a Barclaycard.
I have decided to not go ahead with my change over. Firstly because the incentive to change is not there, Secondly I have done most of my Christmas shopping and bought the computer, so missed out on any saving due to the late arrival of the paper work.0 -
Can anyone clarify if payment for the services such as Home Office visa fee will qualify as an Eligible Purchase?
I understand that to get 6% cashback one need to to make 15 transactions in the 1st 3 months, can I then avoid spending for the next 9 months and still get the introductory cashback or every month it has to be some number of transaction in every of 12 months?
Thanks0 -

That's my understanding too.0 -
Could Martin sort this out with Barclaycard once and for all? I would love to know if we all have to make 15 ppurchases each month for 3 months to get the 6% cashback. Made one large purchase today so I'm on a mission to use the card 15 times this month.0
