Thankfully the similarities between us dont extent beyong being university ebay traders!
Youre a spanner, go away.
Yeah, the similarities stop there, I've made a lot more than you did.. :rotfl:As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
Authority? :rotfl:
This place is an ants nest I'm becoming less inclined to dip my toe inMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I have read alot of the thread and I was wondering if anyone legal as been reading and maybe answer this.
The seller sold an item, the buyer paid paypal with a stolen credit card, paypal accepts stolen credit card then credits seller, thats the problem in a nutshell.
The seller as not accepted the stolen credit card but paypal has, paypal has given the seller credit less their commision for the service of these checks.
Does anybody know what the legal stance on this is and shouldn't paypal be liable?0 -
And we pay them £££ for every time we use their service, so naturally we expect some security checks on the peoples back accounts/credit cards.
It looks like they wait for a transaction to happen, and only then detect the problem. After the detection, they simply and take the money from the innocent to take the easy way out without hunting for the criminal. Yet, they charge us however much they charge each time we use their service claiming it is all safe everywhere!
I am really sorry to hear about the case of the stolen Laptop and PSP.
My £500 is still frozen. If I go to the Police, I would not have a strong enough case to put forth, since PayPal are still claiming they are investigating.
Had I withdrew the money into my bank account streight away, I would have had the money.
The person who had their credit card stolen, does the credit card company's insurance not cover for any expenses encurred on the stolen credit card?
Also, perhaps it is not a stolen credit card...maybe they use their own credit card or a friend's, and then do a charge back?0 -

Yet another loser to Paypal, though I was lucky enough to have withdrawn the money from Paypal into my Bank Account, so I have a negative balance, but I'd rather PAypal chase me for the money than me have to chase them.
Anyone who has suffered this chargeback scandal, which is only going to encourage scammers to escalate their fraud, affecting more and more people, please complain to FSA, FSO or Watchdog, or all three.
Just because Paypal has these T&Cs doesn't make them FAIR!0 -
PS. If you have negative balance, and are adamant Paypal are not getting it back, it may be worthwhile cancelling Credit Cards they have details of, Current Account Direct Debits, just to be on the safe side......I'm not quite sure just how ruthless they can be.0

And now a reversal has been completed, I cannot seem to contest their decision which was made with no comment or message to me. SODDING PAYPAL. £200 down for an iPod, the person had an unconfirmed address, yet I posted it there with tracking. !!!!!! is the problem?! g_dustone, I hope you get all your stuff stolen, to show you how it feels. Also goes by the name Claudine M Rausch.
I just sent a nice little message complaining about PayPal to PayPal.. let's see what comes of it. Absolute dickheds. As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
So that's your summation of having nothing else to say, well done!
Yeah, the similarities stop there, I've made a lot more than you did.. :rotfl:
Heh I just used your classic spanner and go away phrases!

Was the address marked as eligible for seller protection?
Not a good idea to post any eBay ID's if it means yours can be found out, especialy as you haven't been the most pleasant person on here. Lots of people willing to wreck others auctions/listings.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
Had the same thing happen to me for a Nintendo Wii, I've got a negative balance of £-309. Had an email today from Paypal saying they have converted the balance to Euro? "Our policy of converting all negative balances to E after 4 days"...anyone else had that done to them?
Very tempted just to give them the money and have done with it, although not very happy about it all!0
