Yea what they do is completely immoral. Because they make money out of us being ripped off and they continue to do so regardless.
But the bottom line is it doesnt take a genious to work out when a deal is suspicious. It just takes common sense. Its worrying how many people seem to fall for blatantly obivous scams. Its very worrying indeed!
Yeah but there are a lot of more subtle ones too. like maybe a buyers credit card not accepting the transaction - that can happen several days after paypal have put the money into the sellers account...0 -
That post was refering to the poster who continued to insult me without reading what i had said.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Idiot.
I dont really have sympathy for those who get stung. Paypal and ebay may have unfair policies and structures but if you read what they have to say regarding fraud etc then its pretty simple to avoid.
In a way.. why should paypal cover other peoples ignorance? Fair enough highjacked accounts but selling to people with zero ratings in foreign countries, via unconfirmed paypal accounts?!?! Thats madness.
FYI, the iPod I lost due to a PayPal chargeback, but the laptop was from a BANK TRANSFER. Not PayPal.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
I was just giving my 2 cents. This is a discussion board afterall.0

You're hardly discussing anything, you're telling people you don't care for the problem they're involved with. Thus I don't care what you have to say, go away.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0

Go away?!?!?! LOL
Maybe its best not telling those who havent been suckered to go away! You could learn a lot from us lot :rolleyes:0 -
Go on then, you ignorant little troll - how should I do anything other than I already have as a PowerSeller, accepting payment for a laptop via bank transfer? I had the money in my bank account for around five days, the laptop was posted out promptly as I do with all my items, then a few days later the money came out of my account.
What would you suggest, o' holy grail of eBay trading? As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -

"ignorant little troll"Thats one of the best insults Ive heard in a while! Its up there with the "stupid jumped up nerd" I heard a customer call the manager of a local parcel force depot!!
Heh I wouldnt call myself the holygrail but Ive been extremely successful on ebay over the years. I was self employed on ebay for a while after uni but packed it in to get a real job, a less stressful one!!
Big deal you had the money in your account for 5 days. Cheques and bank transfers can bounce weeks later! Ask your bank for more info but you should already be aware of this!!
When Im involved in expensive transactions with sellers I do a million checks to give myself confidence they are legit. One of the simplest being just calling their bluff and saying your local! Ask if you can meet and do the deal in cash. Possibly for less.0 -
I'm at Uni and self-employed (making a lot) via eBay. I don't accept cheques, but via bank transfer and having the item sent via Special Delivery was as much as I could do. I don't have the time to ask every single buyer where they're from and all that, I have their address and I'm in the middle of claiming as their address isn't even their own. Until the past few weeks (with the two scams in a few days), I've had my feedback skyrocket and hadn't had any problems previous to this.
So your holier than thou attitude really isn't needed, nor did you offer any advice after receiving a bank transfer. Cheers for that.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
kriss_boy,
You are the OP of a thread asking about buying a derelict house for £80000 because one room was habitable. In response to the insults you have thrown around on this thread, my response would be something along the lines of 'pot - kettle - black'.
I seem to also remember you getting stuck with Parcelforce charges for an eBay transaction that you thought were unjustified ... such a successful eBayer!
Spew, I have every sympathy for your situation, and do hope you get somewhere with the police. In the meantime, if you fancy a laugh, look through some of kriss_boy's previous posts. Hours of laughter! xGone ... or have I?0
