Not a good idea to post any eBay ID's if it means yours can be found out, especialy as you haven't been the most pleasant person on here. Lots of people willing to wreck others auctions/listings.
Mine are all requiring instant PayPal payment, so not much can be done really. And you better watch what you say around here mate because you were niave enough to post your ebay user ID :T
And is that a threat? Nice.
PayPal have said that the blame does not hang with them but that they're forced by law to do whatever it is they've done. They also cannot show me what details the other party gave to prove that they didn't get the iPod or whatever. GREAT.As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0 -
By paying me loads of PayPal? Yeah, that'd really ruin my day!As a PowerSeller, I never leave feedback first. The reason I do this is because I know how much it winds the people on the forums up... :beer:0

Can anyone qualify something for me once and for all?
For non receipt disputes - forget item not as described disputes for the moment.
If you post to a confirmed address within 7 days and use a paypal reccomended postal service (i.e special delivery) and in the event of a dispute are available during paypal's allocated timeframe and provide all information required you are covered against credit card chargebacks for non receipt full stop?
And this is written in stone and there is no way for paypal to wriggle out of it's seller protection promise.
Because people on this board periodically vaguely mention things like the signature not being that of the CC holder on the special delivery form (and others that I can't remember) as being a way that paypal can get out of it's seller protection pledge.
Anyone know for sure?
BTW Sorry OP for hijacking your thread and my sympathies go to you and others on here who have been scammed - I take risks myself with unconfirmed adresses sometimes (you have to if you want to trade internationally and offer paypal) but what I sell has very little resale value to a scamster.
But would like to qualify if seller protection for non receipt really is watertight - And I do know there's lots of issues with item not as described scams.0 -
i'm sure they cant do the seller simply because the person signing for the item isnt the person named on the address label, thats scandalous, and there's no way of guarding against that.
more than worried myself, £115 currently held for a Samsung E900 posted on saturday, recorded delivery, that address was confirmed with paypal so they say that i'm covered, but then again this is paypal, so i'm kinda losing hope of ever seeing that money. seems like a chargeback rather than a stolen CC, lets see what happens.0 -

I checked my paypal account and it said the funds had gone through so i posted it off special next day delivery. I withdrew the money from my account into my bank. Now a week later paypal sent me an e-mail saying the item was bought with a stolen CC and my account was frozen. It's now unfrozen but i have a balance of -£500, customer services say if i don't pay it within 90 days to paypal they'll get the debt collection agency in.
Paypal seem happy to just leave it at that, they're missing out the point someone signed for this ps3 at the address i sent it to, if this was fraud it should be reported to the police, but paypal seem to just be passing the buck onto me.
I thought if someone stole a cc the company compensated them.
Paypal claimed on the phone if someone went on a fraud spree and bought lots of items from stores ppl could go into ASDA etc and ask for the money back. Would the cc company have recovered the Fees from paypal or are they just claiming double money?
I plan on going to the police and reporting this, i find it completely unfair i have to come up with the full £500 because someone bought an item off me with a stolen CC. I have the address it was posted to and signed for.
This is such an inconvieniance to me, now i can't even pay my ebay fees because i'd have to pay the PP balance first and i can't use my debit card because it's registered at the PP account so gets denied.
Does anyone have any advice please?
Hi matey i have been the victim of the same type of fraud and believe me, paypal are useless!! I seriously thought about taking paypal to court, but then had to many university exams so didnt have time. One part of me still wants to take paypal to court, so if you are intrested in a 'group class action' were we both at the same time take paypal to court please let me know and private message me. It will only cost us £25 each to do thich ( since court cost are £50/2=£25).
Its about time paypal are bout to book!!
Im really angery for you.0 -
