Here is my latest correspondence with PayPal:
"Dear Sir/Madam,
I am yet to be updated on when my £494.99 would be released.
I trusted PayPal to provide a secure transaction - You indicated clearly that the funds were legitimate and cleared it into my account. I sent the PlayStation 3 via secure Royal Mail Special Delivery (tracking: ZV 4875 5120 9GB, signature of the recipient can be viewed at https://www.royalmail.com).
I urgently need this money as it is the only amount I have being a university student.
If my funds are not released within the next 30 days, I will have no option but to file a court case against PayPal to get this matter settled.
Many thanks for reading. "0 -

Well as we are having a paypal bashing session maybe someone can tell me where I went wrong.
I went to Hong kong in November and while I was there purchased a PS3 to sell on ebay on my return.
I have been a ebay/paypal member for 5 years and have a 3000+ feedback with 1 reversal to my name for 20 quid so I can live with that.
I mainly sell items purchased from computer fairs eg. usb pen drives and have been doing ok for years from this. During this time I had approx 2000 a month going through my paypal account.
So I return from Hong Kong and place my advert on ebay, this is removed as Paypal would not let you sell a PS3 on Ebay before the UK launch due to scammers!!!! So I contacted paypal to try and see what I could do to prove I had the item, I was told by the CS rep to advertise it without paypal, this I did I sold the item and they guy paid for it as he collected it with cash. So happy days.............
A week or so later I recieved a email from paypal telling me my account was limited (approx 400 quid at this point) and this was due to "Due to a sudden increase in your transaction volume we need to obtain
additional verification information."
Now as my transaction volume had been no different I called Paypal CS, was told I could still recieve money into my account just not withdraw untill I had provided additional verification, Passport, drivers liscence, utility bill. So I left my ebay items listed and continued to recieve money while I faxed the documents they requested.
3 Days later they said this wasnt enough information and requested I sent them proof of receipt for the PS3 I had sold on EBAY.
I Phoned Paypal again and told them it had nothing to do with them as I had not recieved any money via Paypal for the item.
This they accepted, but then asked for receipts of other items I had sold on ebay (that had been sold after I had been limited.
This I did.
We are now one week after my limitation and there is nearly a 700 in my paypal account.
I was then told the fax was not legiable and to resend it, I did and I got the same reply again .
So I phoned Paypal and was given a different fax number of her fax machine at the side of her desk and she would phone me as soon as she recieved it and tell me if she could read it, 5 mins later phonecall everything is ok she can read it.
3 days later another email my account is still limited as they will not accept the receipts that I have submitted as there is no contact address for my supplier on them.
Now there is 1000 quid in my paypal account and I can not withdraw it.
I ended all my ebay auctions and removed the paypal payment option.
4 months this has been going on and not a sniff of my cash.
Where in the paypal T&C does it say we can freeze your cash whenever we want and ask for things you cant provide.
I know this does not help the OP but may help someone else that thinks using Paypal is easy and people are only getting ripped off when they do not use the T&C of Paypal.
Sorry for the essay, but as I say any ideas anyone??0 -
what !!!!!!s! who the hell are they demanding to see receipts of your purchases? what the hell does that have to do with them?
i would suggest paying a friend with a paypal account that sum of money if they dont let you withdraw it (dont know if they'll let you do that but try) and then let them withdraw and then transfer over to you, it'll cost a bit in fee's but then again your losing interest for all that time its with them and not in your bank account0 -
Hi mate that is the gods honest truth!!
Cant make payment with my account either.
And its Paypal demanding to see the receipts0 -
i had a similar problem when i was selling xbox 360s. they are trying to make life difficult for ppl reselling ps3s as sony are most likely on their backs.0

Well I now use Nochex, yes I have lost a percentage of sales due to this, but the more people that only use them the more people will get accounts for them etc.......0 -
