Mainly yes, I have days when things all seems to be going wrong, but who doesnt? I spent years unhappy with life, they I decided to stop moaning and change the things i didnt lie, I have been so much happier since that.0

I disagree. you cant control everything but you can control a lot of things.0 -
In most respects I'm happy with my lot, but not with my personal life. I consider my personal life to be a complete failure as I'll be alone from now until death and will never have any children and the family unit that I wanted.0

No Im not. In fact I could cry as I write this
I hate my life, I feel that I have ruined it from day one. I have "nothing" as in Ive been alone for 15 years (im 45) I dont own anything substantial, Im in a mundane job, unqualified. I lost my Dad last year who was the light of my life and made me feel like I was special and I dont have that anymore.
I do have a handful of wonderful friends, who I thank God for, but I sit here in the office most days and think why did I waste all those years...my mother once said to me after I had been travelling abroad on and off for 4 years (and was very pleased with myself for doing it!) "all you will have in the future is a box of photos that noone will care about".........20 years later, she is right...:(

Only you can make things change.
Write a list of things to change, do one thing this week, one thing this month, one thing in 6 months, one thing in a year and have a 3 year plan.
I know medical issues affect what some can do but if not push forward.
Try something new.
Dont be a passenger in life, be the driver!
My friend has a few depression issues, he was told a month ago he was going to be made redundant. A lot of his stress came from work. He is just about to start a new life as a postman and all that know him think this will suit him down to the ground. He wasnt brave enough on his own to leave his job on his own accord but by what many would say was extreme bad luck it gave him the free will to stop and consider what he really wanted yo do with his life.0 -
For people who are single but would like to be with a partner, what do you actually do about meeting people? Where do you go that you have a chance of striking up a conversation with someone new?0

hmm interesting reading through everyone's replies. On the whole i'm happy , married to a decent husband , 2 young kids. Was very fed up with work so decided on a big change when i returned to work last year , I've decided to train as a nurse so have started college to do the required access course before attempting the nursing degree in 2015. Working full time too now so i'm permently tired but that's life with young kids i guess!
i have regrets moneywise as we're stuck renting , no prospect of buying anytime soon and we have a mountain of debt that is a noose around our neck , but self inflicted so we get on with it.
I sometimes think "is this my lot" as things can get very mundane especially marriage wise but it could be a lot worse! lol0 -

I've given up completely on relationships. I no longer trust anyone, never mind trust anyone enough to even consider entering a relationship with them.
That and I'm of an age that the vast majority of women already have children and I'm old fashioned in that I'd love to have my own family, but not someone else's. That's not a PC thing to say, but it's the honest truth of the matter for me.0 -

I am 44, you are an ideal age now to know what you want, you say you have little ties. You love to travel, start looking for a job that involves this passion, go and do it, only you are holding it back thinking about what your mum said. Change your life around now.0
