MSE News: Mobile networks reveal iPhone 5 prices

Has anyone else spotted that O2 have increased the price of 16GB on a £31pm contract - last week it was £169.99, now it's £199.99
Not a happy bunny :mad:0 -
AFAIK online price was £199.99 and retail price is £159.99.0

I can see it was a stupid question0

For those of you wishing to upgrade, and re-use your existing iphone on an alternative network:
if you are o2 monthly customer, they will unlock it for free, but this does not affect your contract. takes 14 days.
o2 PAYG customers will pay £15 for the same service.
any other 3rd party unlocking appears to cost about £50 / time or thereabouts.
alternatively to all ofthese, you can jailbreak the old one, but you'll lose a lot of your auto sync and backup functions in itunes, as well as sync of apps.
Free for me! :T0 -
I have been searching for a sim-only option for iP5, as I would prefer the cheapest option to buy outright. GiffGaff would have been my preferred option but they are slow at updating on the availability of nano-sims .. saying they will be available in 'coming months'! I have just ordered a nano-sim from Tesco mobile for delivery in 3-5 days. They also confirmed to me that I can set up their £10 per month, 150 min, 5k text, 1gb data iPhone 1 month rolling contract when I get the sim. Seems to be the cheapest option and best available until GiffGaff sort themselves out.0

The best sim only deals will probably come from Tesco Mobile when they are released. I've been using them for a couple of years now and no other network provider can beat them. Currently on 500 mins - 5000 text and 1gb for £12.50 a month and it's a 3 month rolling contract so I'm not tied in. I get the same network coverage as 02 so I very rarely don't have a signal.Which networks are offering less than £10/month sim-only?
I'm looking at O2 and the cheapest is £13.50 sim-only (with only 100mb internet - unlikely to be enough for iPhone use). There is a £16.50/month tariff with 500mb.
O2 simplicity
£529 for phone
£13.50 per month for 24 months (12 month rolling contract)
Total cost £853
O2 simplicity
£529 for phone
£16.50 per month for 24 months (12 month rolling contract)
Total cost £925
O2 per article
£250 for phone
£26 per month for 24 month contract
Total cost £8740 -
