hi all, new to this forum, just a few thoughts.

I cant help but think the iphone is a fashion must have craze just like kids with zhu zhu pets etc.

I thought about iphone but when in shop was more impressed with the sony xperia s. I traded in my old phone so brought price down to 210 pounds.
i decided to buy the handset rather than an 18 month contract and have the 17 a month all you can eat data etc payg sim.
have been mega impressed with the phones hd pic etc and the speed of three data. I watch netflix loads on my phone when i can steal from the kids.
I cant justify the iphones tarrifs and since having unlimited data would not want any other network. i nearly fell for tmobile unlimed data but they mean unlimited browsing! my friend got a nice shiney phone with a gig data but now resents the 18 month contract as uses more data than he thought.
what i dont get is my work mate who is paying 45 a month has constantly been looking to upgrade to the iphone 5 yet he has still got four months left on contract, he going to buy the contract out just to get new phone that he cant wait for. Is this a craze??
finaly i know i will get oh this phone better than that phone but i am more than happy with my phone and my sim. i love it i stream movies to my sony telly all time and its a real beaut in the car as it has stopped the "how much longer, our we there yet" and the camera is fantastic, thats all i need :D
I like not having a contract in any shape or form.

SMALL PRINT: 2000 cross network & unlimited T-mobile calls !!

    terrible misrepresentation.

It's not even "cross network". They exclude calls to certain mobile networks - eg lycamobile.

God even MSE mods have got into all this APPLE marketing caper....is MSE not about consumers & credit awareness ? No its now about a price marked up underspeced mobile phone & how to get your hands on one  if ever one consumer item goes against the MSE ethos its a i-phone, yet MSE give free publicity & marketing to it & its network partners !

It will only get worse when Martin leaves his paid position for moneysupermarket to make money out of such actions on the site.

    NOT impressed.

What utter nonsense, this web site shows offers that are available.

So you are telling me that they should not show offers on cinema tickets, as it is an expensive night out and people should watch freeview. Or offers on make up as its a luxury.

I do agree with you on the referral aspect of this site mind, no none can offer unbiased recommendations when someone is paying you to host a link!

I have not seen any offers for iP5 yet - just prices.

And why does this site not show prices for, say, the newest BMWs or the basic Fiestas as soon as they are revealed? Why iPhones only?

MSE requires visitors, search for iphone x and MSE is right up there, how many people have searched for basic fiestas on release compared to iphones? I suspect not as many.

Like it or not for MSE to continue it needs to come up in search engines so will use companies/products that increases that traffic.

However, with all of the providers, bar Vodafone which is offering 12 month contracts, you'll have to sign up for a lengthy 24 months if you want to get your hands on the latest gadget.
    Incorrect - T-Mobile are offering 18-month contracts.

I have an iphone 4 which is out of contract in November, what's the cheapest option for me if I wanted an iphone5?

Should I trade in, upgrade and see what orange can offer? Or don't trade in and find another website that will offer more?
Or buy from Apple with a giffgaff SIM, that I would make myself, what size is a nano SIM?

You know this whole 'trade in' thing, how does it work? I've seen people before talking about being able to upgrade to latest iPhone for free? How does this happen?

Giffgaff sims arrive about 4 days after ordering. They provide pop out nano sims.
Also, it isn't hard to cut down any SIM from any provider. Just buy a SIM punch from ebay for about £2.50

Best deal for iPhone 5 surely is buy an unlocked phone from Apple - £529, then get a £10 goodybag each month, recurring (unlimited data/unlimited texts/250 mins/free giffgaff to giffgaff). Total cost over 24 months =£32.04 per month and no contract to get out of. No brainer... am I missing something?
